Who will Bennett axe, retain & recruit for 2013?

I've just been thinking that a lot of our starting team are on quite a small salary. But most of the guys below are off contract for next year, they would be almost certain to get a salary increase.

Tahu
Buderus
Mason
Edwards
McKinnon
Gagai

It's a shame when Wes and Sau are demanding so much and they have been playing mediocre football. What is the meaning of a contract these days?

Sa'u was re-signed before Bennett was even mentioned as a possibility to come to the Knights. However it was a bit dumb to get in a bidding war with the Dragons for Wes when he's towards the end of his career, even when he was in that awesome form i thought 3 years seemed too long.

Bennett signed in April, S'au was re-signed in May. So.....i dont think so.

It says in the paper that Bennet is keen to sign Stagg which i wouldn't mind but we already have plenty of backrowers.

Saw someone say this on our marathonstadium Twitter account but apparently Mitchell Pearce is off contract too, him & Mullen would be a killer combination half imo.

Well we're losing Taia, Edwards, Mckinnon and Cuthbertson are looking like nuffies and Houston has only been playing okay. Hilder is out of favour too. We have Scott coming in. We literally have 2 okay backrowers for next year, no game breakers.

I think Mullen has proven he is not good enough to strike up a killer combo with anyone ,he has changed position and halves partners a lot and its never worked .Maybe its time to start thinking Mullen is the problem and not who we put with him as whoever we put with him it does'nt work .Last season Mullen was injured and Roberts and Stigg were the halves and we have'nt looked that good in those positions for years and we won those games ...but then mullo came back and we started losing again ..........TIME FOR HIM TO GO........

There's many other players that should be considered to go before Mullen, his defence this year has been outstanding, his combination with Boyd close to the line has been very good & lead to tries, his left cut-out passes are killer, he's very good with his runs aswell and has a good boot on him. I'd love to see him stay & I dont at all think he's proved not good enough. I guess we both are entitled to our opinions though :)

Sorry, but that is a load of stupid

Mullen's time is over.

What so he can be replaced by a poor man's Mullen in Finch?

Maybe Bennett should just ask Bellamy how he get's his players to turn up each week. Seems a bit beyond Wayne at the moment. It used to be said players improve under Bennett and they love to play for him. Sorry I ain't seeing that here. Instead of fixing what isn't working it's a case of who can we buy ?

Wouldn't be a bad move getting rid of these 2 guys now. They're on overs and surplus to requirements. We have Tahu, Gagai, Likiliki, Kevin, Chanel & Pete (and Pat) and Will Smith ready to go and McKinnon and Filipo are handy centres too. I get we need depth but these young guys should be our depth, our highest paid centres shouldn't be playing NSW Cup every week. Releasing these 2 alone could almost pay the salary for a top prop or halfback or hooker so why not.

I would be interested to see what is available overseas, not many decent buys off contract here IMO since Teo signed with Souths.

Would you really wanna try & attempt to fix this bunch of crap though? There no hopers, might aswell farm 'em all out & buy players that won't take the jersey for granted.

He's not coming back for some time now. Not since he's playing in the Wallabies and Drew Mitchell and Lachie Turner can't even get on the pitch.

Haha yea, dont see it happening, good on him but! Still would love to see him at the club again one day!

9 kilos of fat, not muscle. He'd be a character for sure, but he'd be gone in the NRL unless he lost alot of that!

Dont be so sure of that. Drew mitchell has just returned from injury and turners back next year. Following this year I dont really see Vuna getting another crack with people like Ioane, Shipperly, Mitchell, Oconnor, Ashley Cooper, Turner, Tomane about and plenty more!
