I think Gamble is the best option. His in play kicking isn’t as good, but everything else he does as well and for me his strengths really outweigh Cogger.

Have we been given any confirmation that we’ve trained all off season with Cogger at 7? A lot of the leaks from training were that Gamble was at 7. Cogger would have definitely trained at 7, but doesn’t sound like he was the only one at all.
Cogger has been training all offseason at 7, and now we are shopping him around elsewhere? lol

I can see Cogger/Gamble with Phoenix coming off the bench. Either Cogger starts or he isn't in the 17. Brailey is 9 irrespective of any rumours about him that haven't come to fruition but if there aren't any takers (which seems to be the case) he's there for this season.

Maybe we should all go to church on Sunday and pray that a 7 will miraculously appear from the lower grades. Cogger is a good solid player, but a regular NRL half???
I dunno!!

Changing the subject, I thought the Best and Fairest should have gone to a player in the Indigenous side!!
Dylan Lucas played out of his skin in both attack and defence and anyone who missed his performance must have had sunnies on.
Boy , am I glad he's a Knight!!

The Tele reported he was shopped to the Dolphins in the off season. I’m just going off what was reported. He also hasn’t been the only one training at 7 as there were leaks from training of Gamble training at 7.

So there has been at least 2 players training at 7 in the off season, definitely not just Cogger. AOB said he was looking at 2 of them.

I don’t know where this narrative has come from that Cogger was the only bloke we ran with at 7 in the off season, when the media leaks and AOB himself have all said otherwise.

Very unlikely we go into the season with a combination of Gamble/Cogger when AOB has said they’re all in for the long-term with Sharpe in the halves (also he played the whole trial at 6).

It’ll be Sharpe at 6 round 1 no doubt either either Cogger OR Gamble at 7 (but not both).

Yet all our pre season previews go on about KPP and Frizz but seen to totally miss that lucas exists

Forgive me because I can’t remember who it was that went to training the other day and reported back, but he said the final part was Gamble and Sharpe training at 7. Gamble wore the 6 last year but the 4 or so games he and Crossland were together, he was on the right hand side and was marshalling the side around the park.

It was Owey.

We’ve seen in the past that AOB puts a massive premium on defence so I reckon it will be Gamble with Sharpe on the halves.
I mean his words indicate this but his coaching methodologies and actual output from his players would suggest he couldnt give a rats about defence. We are hopeless, and that was my big take out of the trial we did not improve that.

Have you ever thought about a career in motivational speaking? 😓😂

Well i think that's what you're looking for with your back up players, to be able to come in and fill the holes in defence and not look too disjointed in attack. Having 44 put on us in a hit and giggle game against last years spoonbowl winners is not desirable.

We are not, we were dead last for attack last year and finished in the 8, it stands to reason that our defence must of been ok. Yes, there's certainly some areas we can improve on, ruck and marker defence being a big one.

We also put more pressure on ourselves at times with a super conservative kicking game that introduces fatigue.

To say we don't care about defence and we are terrible i think is wrong.

The reason for the conservative kicking game is purely defensive. To play with a set line and prevent long kick returns.

Yeah i get that, but you need to get more height in it to give a chance for the chasers to get there, some times we would go with the same chip kick and and the guy running the ball back would have 20 meters of steam before hitting the line.

It was probably better later in the year when Hastings was out of the side though.
