Who are you supporting in the finals?

Who do i think will win. It's hard to go past the Panthers. They will definitely be in the GF.

Who would I like to win. I'm really liking how the Roosters have built there game over the season and enjoy watching them play.

But it would be good to see Parra get up. I supported them back in the 80's before Newcastle come into the comp. They had a gun side and as a kid you more or less go for who is winning. 😂

Mate, you won one more game against a top 8 side than the Sharks did, and won the same number of games (2) against the top 4 (mind you the Cows had four cracks against decent opposition compared to the Sharks three). Both clubs then beat up on all the scrub sides. I'd suggest it's the battle of the soft draws.
 
Cowboys record in Sydney against top 8 sides in 2022:

Round 12: Penrith 22, Cowboys 0
Round 22: Roosters 32, Cowboys 18
Round 24: Rabbits 20, Cowboys 10

So of your 10 games against top 8 sides this season, you've had to play 3 in Sydney and have been spanked every time.
 
Hate the "soft draw" chat. You can only beat the sides in front of you and what seems like an easy draw at the start of the year can turn into a hard one with unexpected sides rising/falling, and vice versa.

Like, if you were one of the teams which got to play Manly after Pridegate, congrats on the easy win against a team which finished 4th last year. No way was anyone circling any Manly fixtures as easy wins at the start of the year.

You still have to actually take advantage of the "easy" draw (it's still only a few games difference with the "hard" draws anyway) and the Sharks and Cowboys have done that. Good on them.

I feel like I heard the "easy draw" chat about Cronulla more than any other side this year FWIW.

Have I disagreed?

All I’m pointing out is Sharks easy run that’s gone unnoticed by the media where all the talk by many on here and media is the Cowboys easy run.

Keep overlooking our origin hit sides and youth as well. Sharks were hardly affected by origin.
 
I think the Sharks have overachieved and won't really trouble the scorers in the finals. I genuinely quite like the Cowboys and will be hoping that they win this weekend. If it wasn't in Sydney I'd be very confident in their prospects.
 
Im going for Parra this year. Would be good to see them win. Otherwise I hope Penrith go back to back.

Certainly do not want to see Roosters or Melbourne in the gf again. Souths can **** off also.

And for gawds sake not the cows, I couldnt stomach seeing CBM gloating all year.

Whether it be the Sharks or Cowboys, the loser of this weekends game will go out in straight sets.
 
The Cowboys have literally never lost a finals game in Townsville. They’re 9 from 9 and they’ve won with much worse teams than this one.

25 degree plus dry heat in September. Such a hard trip to make.

That’s my logic anyway.

If the Cowboys win week 1 they probably make the grand final no matter who they play their prelim against, just so hard to beat them up there this time of year. Whereas after this weekend Sharkies lose their home ground advantage, the NRL isn’t gonna agree to more than one game at Shark Park.
 
It’s the larger regional venues from week two of the finals, so even if PointsBet was at full capacity, Cronulla can only play there in week one.

Agree wholeheartedly albeit I'd also add the routers to my infinitely favourite exclusion list (of 2).
Outside of that, my personal order of premiership preferences is:-
raiders, parra (not likely now!), sharks, cowboys, penrith, bunnies, storm, routers
 
Not a hard prediction to get right. Been saying how sh*t the Sharks are for months. We were never losing to them. Would of beat that South’s side comfortably today if we did manage to lose last week. That game tonight was reserve grade standard.
 
Once Newcastle were out of contention (mathematically I mean. Realistically we were out of contention by April!), I was hoping Parramatta get up. I predicted Penrith would beat them in the first week of Finals, but in the GF, Parra would beat them again.

So far, it's all coming true, but we'll see what happens on Sunday.
 
Would be madness if Parra become premiers. But you just never know. It's long forgotten now, but Melbourne were thought by many to be easily the best team last year, but Penrith were the ones that became premiers and that's all that is really remembered or cared about after the fact. A Parramatta title would certainly be a weird turn of events for this season.
