What's the solution?

There's something going around Twitter about Todd Carney on his way here. I don't think it has any credibility though.

6. Jarrod Mullen
7. Todd Carney

I wouldn't be against that if by some chance it was true

Probably on his way to the tattoo joint near the ground.

If we don't drop the ball, we probably win that game. That's the biggest problem right now, I don't know how one attempts to fix that or how the problem even arises in the first place, but that's what killed us yesterday. Apart from that it was pretty much an improved game on what we've done so far this year.

Against better teams we'll need more than that though. Certain underperforming players need to be dropped.

I don't understand why people say Gidley at halfback doesn't work, every year we go through Roberts' crap & every year he gets dropped to the bench for Gidley & we magically hit form again & look good. Gidley is no halfback, but he's enthusiasm personified & we have always played better with him there than Roberts. Roberts has had too long, he needs to be permanently dropped & we have to start looking at a new option for 2016 if we want to progress as a team.

As a player he is exactly what we need.
Off field - not so sure.

Only problem with Carney is that he's a bit too much like Mullen and we need an organiser. Saying that though we obviously need a half and he's probably the best we could get.

Wont happen in a million years (club wouldn't touch him and Carney wouldn't want to be in Newcastle) - but yeah, I'd certainly take him.

No to Carney. Under our she'll be right attitude he would be a train wreck.

Solution massive droppings of players to NSW cup.

I'd take him too and I think he was ousted from the NRL unfairly (although thats a whole other topic) Why do you say we wouldn't touch him? Aren't bad boys one of our specialities?

I just think they'd be too scared of the potential risk when they're trying to get fans/sponsors back onside.

That was such a dog act by Bennett telling him to look after himself. If he had of planned on seeing out his last 3 years do we think Benny would have been happy to let him go?

Players have terms in their contract to conduct themselves in a becoming matter it wasn't a one off silly moment of madness it was about his 20th.

Absolute disgrace, what a way to destroy a brilliant start to a season, only Newcastle could do it. Rick Stone was 100% the wrong choice for head coach. With quality and proven coaches such as Nathan Brown, Stephen Kearney, Anthony Griffin out there and actually worth their while, we employ Rick Stone. Idiots. The first 4 weeks I was like, well maybe I was wrong, but it is all coming out now! It is a culture of failure continuing - Souths turned it around by attracting decent players and getting exceptional coaching staff, as did the Roosters, Bulldogs...instead we are languishing with Mullen, Roberts and Gidley that have brought us nothing but mediocrity. I am not claiming I can do a better job, but coaching an NRL team isn't my full time job. Then we see our club lose possibly the best player week to week we put on the field and something people can only shake their heads at, an incumbent Australian player is playing in NSW CUP! And we are losing in First Grade!!! WTF....how does that make sense to ANYONE!
As a long term fan, tattooed with the Knights logo and 1000 jerseys and shirts and shorts and ties in my cupboard and merchandise, jerseys, signed pictures all over my walls I am saying the Knights absolutely deserve to be losing and failing when acting like they are. It is an absolute disgrace.
I would like to see us:
-> Attract a proven and seasoned coach (not an old has been) - a Nathan Brown/Anthony Griffin
-> Retire Gidley (18 months ago preferrably)
-> Move on Roberts, Snowden and McManus
-> Buy a decent high profile Hooker and experienced half to work with Mullen (Maloney springs to mind)
-> Stock up forwards with youth to back up Sims brothers, Stockwell mixed with experience of Smith, Houston and co

It will not see results for a couple of years, but if we were thinking about this in 2005 say, we would be more of a Manly/Bulldogs/Roosters rather than Newcastle/Parramatta/Penrith type outfit.

The message they need to get is get a brain AND hold on to the ball.

Just my thoughts.

So you want us to sign Kearny or Griffin, punt our consistently best prop in Snowden and keep Houston?

That's um...well an interesting opinion to say the least...

Stone didn't make the 13 errors on the field... at 12 - 0 up with a breeze we didn't look for a 40/20... We didn't throw the ball wide early again, we actually got a few line drop outs but made an error compiled by a penalty straight after...

McManus need to be dropped he isnt doing anything (he scored one try i do know this) Sione would offer more speed and skill out wide

As for the halves and full back.... I got nothing at all...

Something will turn around soon I hope, looks to be another wet game on saturday... god help us we will need it

I don't know...as disgusted as I was with the peformance against the Sharks I think Sunday's game was a major improvement. I dont remember in the 2 weeks prior to that where we forced repeat sets and threatened to the line.
The errors in our own end killed us against the Eels and being the second week in a row having done that is not good and Stone needs to address that. It's also worth noting against the Sharks and Dragons we were well in it until the 70-75 minute mark before being put away and the Eels until the 80th minute. So it's not like we are being blown away at halftime or even after 50-60 minutes. So I commend the boys for putting in the effort for the 80.
Defence was a big concern against the Eels. Missed some tackles defending the goal line we should have made which gave them points. It got worse then the previous two weeks so Stone needs to address that.
Not trying to be overly optimistic but people suggesting it is all doom and gloom after 7 weeks of footy is ridiculous. The start of the season apart from the trials is the toughest part figuring out things for the coaching staff. Some things have been done well and others haven't. If we lose more i'll be concerned. But again it's only been 7 weeks. Hopefully the losses teach the boys a lesson that they worked hard to get those four wins and shouldn't slacken off and disrespect the opposition. Which I think they have a little in the past 2 weeks against the Dragons and Sharks playing like it.
We looked much sharper against the Eels and if we can carry it on against the Cowboys we'll match them.

Zeb Taia, probably too late for Cuthbo

Problem is the overs we are playing for **** players. This is what I would do short term. (This year)

1. Sione - If he is the future then play him there, he will have mistakes but so does gidley
2. Gagai - he can't tackle and is cause of about every try opposition scores, play him at wing in defence but centre in attack
3. McManus - he can tackle at centre proved it last year, to help gaga
4. Leila
5. Mamo - Uate is ****, lose him asap we are paying overs
6. Mullen
7. Gidley / Todd Carney - please buy a 7, he is best chance, closest to being available and may come
8.Snowden
9 Clydesdale - he will improve, budders and cam smith took a few years to come good.
10. Stockwell - playing ok but we need a stronger bench, this will share the bench.
11. Scott -
12. Rochow
13. Smith
14. Roberts/Randall
15. Faalogo
16. T. Sims- needs more game time play him at 13
17. Tapine

18. Houston for scott injured
19. K. Sims for Rotor

I believe with Carney or decent 7 and buy another forward for beau scott we will be more competitive. I would move roberts on to, and start to look for some more forwards for smith, faalogo and houston.

Sorry for spelling mistakes, I meant budders not budders and Rochow not rotor, the spell check got me.

I respect people having their own opinions but this I was shaking my head at.

Firstly, why would you put McManus in Gagai's centre spot? Did you not see him play there in 2014? Atrocious. Not to mention Gagai has been great so far after struggling in recent seasons, putting his defence aside. Secondly, why would you drop Uate who has been our equal best back? If he has been sh*t like you say I must have been watching 7 different games than everyone else. Thirdly, how come you've decided to keep Korbin out all together? He has been quite damaging despite the fact he made several errors on the weekend and missed two games.

im more dissapointed because our draw to start the season was relatively easy and we have allready lost 2 at home after round 4 win against the panthers the group of boys i was sitting with at the pub that support all different clubs were having conversation saying the way the knights are goin we could well still be undefeated after 10 od rounds
