This would be nice and we would only have to buy 2 more players than we already have signed for 1st grade .
 
Idiocy not to get Ryan Matterson if we can, guy can play centre's, backrow, lock, and even the halves at a pinch.

Future rep player for mine.
 
The utility I would have liked over Matterson is Mitch Aubison. He and Sione would be great on the bench with a couple of big, ugly props.
 
Holmes hasn't signed anything yet though has he . Also the Dogs still have to get rid of a couple of players you never know Klemmer may have to be the answer , especially if we agree to pay his whole contract and add a bit too it with no wrangling like with Woods and the Sharks ….You just never know we were 10,000,000,000,000,000 to 1 to get Pearce end off last season.

Holmes contract at the Sharks runs out at the end of next year

Could lead to the Sharks getting Bird back as unlikely as it seems. But if the Broncos want to move him on depending on when Bennett is gone and the Sharks can pay for less then half they'll probably do it.

I doubt we'd get Holmes, he's either going home to the Cows or he's sticking with the Sharks. However we might get someone like Barba if we want, out of the FBs available.

Tex Hoy - I was under the impression he was a half?

Would we not resign Jack Johns?

Also all of this is on the premise that KP plays 5/8...which Browny had said already is completely up to him. So considering he came to us to play FB may be a stretch.

Tex played most of his juniors in the 1 jersey, but he has always had advanced playmaking skills as well.
I used to say about him in under 16s that you don't see a fullback being your main playmaker very often, but Tex would be the go to guy on 5th tackle most of the time and would do most of the kicking.
Lowrie has used him as a fullback, 5/8 and halfback as well as a bench utility in under 20s this year, and his two games o reserve grade have been at 5/8.

Steady is the last way i'd describe Johns. He bounced between being the worst player on the field and the best player on the field, and you never knew who would show up. To be fair to him, it had a lot to do with a leg injury he nearly always had to some degree.
