We need some coaching!!

Hagan is a pretty overrated coach i think.
We had nothing in attack today.
We have players like Newton and Simpson who should running onto balls but they only started to do that in the end when it was do or die.
We lack structure. Melboure had decoy runners and stuff but we do the same thing everytime.
I really think Hagan needs to start doing some coaching cos i am fed up with him.
Changes HAVE to be made this week. Get rid of Carmout and Carney and bring up Salkeld and Tighe.
I am so angry i could say so much but i'll limit myself.
Also Daily saying the way melbourne slow down the play the ball is great, yeah for them but it's runining our game. They worked them every play the ball and it's ridiculous. This game is becomming very mediocre and slowing the play the ball takes out the games of talents like Johns cos sides can't get a roll on.
If melbourne are the cream of the crop this game is going backwards.
 
With all due respect at the end of the day, it's the players who have to make the plays right.

Its not Hages fault that Carney ran out, or Quinn told the ref off, or it wasnt his fault that Matt Gidley flicked it at the end. Or Tanner missing the last tackle of the Game.

There does however need to be changes but there wont be, Keep Carney whilst we got him and Carmont and Quinn work so well with eachother so I'd leave that too.

Thaiday didnt do much today, even Warren Smith said that but hes a ****** so don't believe that but he didnt to me.

Overall it's not the coach its the players who have to put in!!!
 
Yeah, but he can help with decent tactics and good selections.

Quinn and Carmont need to go, and ditto Tanner for Abraham. Quinn has been a ticking timebomb for a couple of seasons, today he went off and cost us the game.

Another thing Hagan should be doing is telling the players to stop arguing with officials, or even talking to them. I didn't see Melbourne argue with any decision, and they did fine.
 
Yeh that too, All Im saying is it's common sense to run decoys, my brothers under 12s team doesnt get told but its naturally in their game. It shouldnt be up to Hages to get a trainer to run out saying 'Decoys fellas', thats as i said under 12s stuff.

The only thing Hages is stuffing up on is hes selection but that shouldnt make him an overated coach PPL's lol
 
If I have learnt nothing else from about the last 3 years of watching Newcastle play, it is that our players are the dumbest in the NRL haha. So I also have to agree with that. That Perry legpull ... :roll:
 
Hages is a great coach, he never drops a player if they do something wrong. **** game though
 
Nah i think he needs to drill something into our game. You can't just rely on natural talent as it only gets you so far, you need game plans and plays and stuff.
I respect Hagan, but i just don't think he's doing his job at the moment.
I can predict the way we are going to play so other coaches have it aced.
We do the same thing all game and it was only towards the end when the players decided to drop what'd they'd practice and throw it around that we looked better.
You've gotta change the team and the style of play around.
I wasn't slightly angry at Quinn, i don't think that lost us the game.
Every player verbals, Joey himself said it. The touchy game in the 4th time it happend, if he wasn't going to tolerate it he should have came in the first time. That's like saying the players and break the rules 4 times but will only be punished on the forth.
 
Your kidding arent you, we got a penalty and in came the touchie because Quinn opened his mouth. The penalty was reversed and they scored, I dontknow how you can't be pissed off with him really, it cost us the game!!!

The whole thing with respecting Hagan has gone a bit far....I mean the players are going to constantly think he that they can make mistakes like that and get away with, that its OK, they'll still have a spot next week. This is why he needs to make changes, to say that it won't be tolerated and if you want a first grade spot, you have to earn it.

It didn't cost us the game. We still should have been able to tackle and it was the most ridiculous penalty ever. So Quinn scoring to get us back in means nothing. The tochy was an idiot and i agree with Joey in saying it was crap.
That's the way Quinn plays, and the touchy should be going in for grapples and stuff but they don't do anything.
He should have came in the first time not the forth.
 
It did make it alot harder, if he didnt open his mouth we would have been on attack and at the time we were dominating for a while, strong tackles, instead we had to defend and conceded a try. We would have been winning if they didnt score but oh well, he will get told by Hages this week to cut it out, because its not the first time Quinn hasnt blown up.

It still doesn't change the fact we should have been able to prevent the try from happening as they started from scratch 40 meters out. That's really poor defence on our part. And like i_love_buderus says it was a ridiculous penalty that shouldn't have been given when it was as the touchie should have done something about it the FIRST time not the FOURTH if he had such a major issue with it.

Plus he was sinbinned last season against Manly for throwing the ball at Terry Hill's head, and almost took off James Websters head after he scored a try the first time we played Melbourne this year.

Touchies are used to some verbal, that's why he let Quinn off with a warning to begin with, but Quinn took it over the line. I have no problems with what the touchie did.
 
I agree with you. The touchie was stupid not to give the penalty the first time. Der, what does he think will happen if he lets it go :roll:
