Under rated players?

Billy

Danny 'Bedsy' Buderus
Api Pewhairangi - captain of our NYC side and one of the top tryscorers this year - now named for junior Kiwis.

Shaun Boss - young prop we brought from the country who couldn't get a run in NYC two years ago and finished this year as starting prop in NSW cup.

Tom Rouse - halfback who was named best player in SG Ball when we won the title last year and has been starting 7 in NYC when not injured.

Josh Alison - giant winger or centre who missed a lot of games this year with injury.

Pat Mataútia - missed all season except the last few games with injury, but he stepped right in and was getting as good stats as older brother Chanel from game one. He will be the star of NYC next year.

Marvin Filipo - the NSW cup rep player and player of the year.

Josh Mantellato - decent winger and best goal kicker in the game.

AJ Davis - went from playing in the Real NRL GF for Wests to becoming one of the best halfbacks in NSW Cup & almost getting a game in the NRL, all within a year.

Jesse Bromich. 6' 4" 110kgs 23 yo and lost nothing against the "monster pack" of the Bulldogs. Cooper Cronk. I keep reading every now and then that he's not really a good half back. Just like Jen Hawkins isn't really a good sort.

Mateo had a good season this year, but I don't personally think he's ever going to be at the level to make those rep sides. He should have stuck with captaining Tonga.

I think McManus is under rated!
He's one of the safest in the comp...
Only not noticed because his not ''flashy''!

Ryan Stig is very under rated because he has had so many injuries.
He had a reasonable run with injuries in his year of Qld cup and took his side to a minor and major premiership.
In his first few months of NSW cup he was in amazing form and was running away with the player of the year award before picking up leg injuries that slowed him down a lot, then he took a month off and came back to win 3 games of firstgrade as main playmaker before finishing off the season with injuries again.
This year he only had about 2 games of NSW cup where he looked well short of fit, but it actually could be a blessing in disguise that he has missed most of the year, because he should be injury free for the first time in about 5 years when he does his first full off season in years.

Can't wait to see Stig next year. If people thought Roberts was better than Gidley this year, then they will probably be wanting to induct Stig as an immortal. Much better player than Roberts, imo.

Stig > Roberts for mine. Much better kicking, passing and organising. Even though I don't like Gidley at Halfback I can't wait for him to be back in the side.

Weren't the Knights 4/5 this year when Gidley played. Hopefully he can have an injury free year

Personally i think Roberts is better but it really does'nt matter to me as long as they are all playing well and pushing for a spot in first grade then whoever is in firsts will have to be at the top of they're game and thats great for the club and the team.
The other part of that is our back rowers assuming Smith ,Scott and Houston start if they are fit and ready, I think Mckinnon ,Rochow , Hilder, Cuthbertson , Simms , Costigan even Tets who will be better again next year , have all shown that the guys starting had better be at the top of they're game because if they're not these guys are good enough to take they're spot.
Which is something that we have'nt had for a while so next season is looking very good imo.
