Tyson Frizell

I'd say he wants to stay at the Dragons now, but if he chooses us despite both clubs making good offers, then it'll be because he wants to come here clearly.

Dragons have had a solid squad for a few years now (Widdop, Vaughan, Sims, Hunt and so on), but they just can't shake their hoodoo of peaking early season. Our team has unknowns with a new coaching staff, new hooker, and we haven't made finals in years. Despite that, and not to be biased, but you'd have to think we're a better chance at success this year than the Drags.
 
Players who come for a big payday to end their careers are rarely worth it.
I could give 100 examples, but you'll all just say those were **** players and it will be different this time, or trot out the 3 or 4 who were good.

If Watson extends surely that spells the end for Mann, Glasby may see out that contract because of his Storm roots with O’Brien and Sione will somehow continue to Steven Bradbury his way into making the top 17 until 2022
 
I guess it was a bad move paying Pearce, Ponga and Klemmer big money. All those rep players are really dragging the team down.

We should just wait for sione to become a great backrower. Maybe after another five years and 100 games he'll get there.

Imagine thinking signing frizzell is anything other than a huge coup.

If Pearce doesn't have a big year this year, I'm going to start calling him a waste of money.
Ponga and Klemmer are young guys - not pensioners looking for a payday.
Frizell will be 32 in 4 years time.
 
Absolutely ridiculous that we're chasing the best second-rower in the game while we've got Pat Mata'utia running around in the local league. He would never do something like play for another NRL team.
 
Why come in with this bs man? All those guys were just blokes having a crack and they did alright.

And Frizell is good but he's not the best in the comp
 
Just watched that interview with Tyson. He was asked point blank if his preference was to stay at the Dragons, and he didn't answer it.

Sounds very promising for us.
 
He is saying in an article on NRL.com that he wants to win a premiership.
At least that is better motivation than dollars.
I can't remember when we had a chance to sign a big name because they thought we could win a premiership - maybe never.
 
If we don't land Frizell I reckon Jackson Ford and Jamil Hopoate are two good players coming through who would do well in the second row but at a far cheaper price - and they are off contract for 2021.
