Toohey's News

Not much that hasn't already been discussed today.

Fitz is going to super league next year.

Simi off to the raiders, apparently the club thinks he's lazy. Knights wanted Trey Mooney, Tom Starling or Danny Levi in return for releasing him immediately but Raiders said no.

Friz has offers from super league, tigers and raiders

Roosters signing Dom Young's brother as part of his deal is frustrating.
I thought we should have done that last year.
I've never seen him play, but he is as tall as Dom and is only playing part time because he was finishing a Uni degree up till last year.
It's very much worth a second tier contract to see if he takes to NRL level training like Dom did.
I'm surprised that the Raiders won't release Levi. He is now their 3rd choice at hooker and playing reserve grade.
You have to wonder why Georgia Roche is having such a hard time getting a visa if she has a 5 year contract.

Yeah Simi has shown potential in the lower grades, but has a big issue with ball security which as far as I’m aware hasn’t improved at all, he’s a horrific defender, and always looks to be totally gassed after barely any time on the field when he’s gotten chances in the top grade.

You might say ā€well that’s the fault of our player developmentā€, but our two first choice wingers are guys who notably had the exact same issues, and both have come along massively on that front…

Pure speculation, but I'd wager she is after a "global talent" visa and they can take months to process.

Considering the government has just opened the immigration floodgates they're probably pretty busy.

To be clear, the article doesn't say the Knights have released him yet, just that he's definitely gone for 2024 and they are negotiating around an early release.

We should be talking to Trey Mooney come November 1 irrespective of what happens, get a load of his mobility and power if you haven’t seen him before:

At about 6’2ā€ and 108kg at age 20, he’s very much the blueprint for a modern prop forward.

Push for a release in 2024 once we get him for 2025, the Raiders wouldn’t have much reason to retain him.

That the club is apparently keen on him is at least a positive sign that they know what we’re missing.

We would have to pay some good coin to get him. But it’s be sweet revenge and smart recruiting to get him like they did Tapine. Just depends how loyal he is to them. Tapine didn’t have a loyal bone to the club šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚
