Tolman to be let go

I think Barnett was our 2nd best forward last season behind Daniel Saifiti. He’s still young and has a lot of development ahead of him. I think he has a really bright future. I really like what he brings to the table at lock, but I also like his skill set on the fringe. He could certainly come off the bench as he would provide great impact/spark. There’s also the advantage of him being able to play both middle and edge. I just personally think he’s earned the right to the #13 jersey. IMO he’s proven more than Fitzgibbon for a starting spot. Buhrer easily played his best footy on the right edge at Manly and isn’t as effective at lock. Guerra is probably better suited to the edge than middle. That leaves #13 open and Barnett has been one of the few shining lights for us. With a much better team/pack around him, I see no reason why he won’t take another step forward and be regarded as one of the better young forwards in the game.

Big yes, from me.

8. D Saifiti
9. Levi
10. Lillyman
11. Guerra
12. Barnett
13. Tolman

14. Buhrer
15. Fitzgibbon
16. J. Saifiti
17. Ese'ese

Has Tolman ever played at lock i've only ever seen him play F/row if he has all well and good but if not then leave lock to Barnett .

Depending on structure, lock is just another middle third forward, essentially a third front rower. Gallen, Taumalolo, McGuire, etc. Put number 8 or 10 on their backs and their game is no different.

Heard that Fitzgibbon was best on the field in the Melbourne trial. Wouldn't be surprised if he forces his way into the starting team for Round 1.

Forces. He will be there Brown has shown he won't pick on reputation. Pencil him into the bench at worst guy was impossible to handle last half of year and by all accounts arguable our best forward in the preseason.

Was a lot of talk last yr Dogs were moving him to lock. He can play there if required but we have better options. Buhrer, Barnett, Guerra etc

Not 100% sure the Dogs will be letting him go. Only last year his contract was extended to the end of 2020 and that means the Dogs would be underwriting his agreed salary.

That's even more reason for us to get him it would be nice for us to have someone else paying half a players contract , Weve done it enough .

Anyone we are still paying aside from Hodkinson I wonder?

Uate, we sent him to Manly on the bases of paying 200k for 2yrs.
Thats it though.

Pretty sure we still have roughly 1mil in cap space, so we need to find 600k of players asap i think? Or we get a fine for under spending.... total joke, and i bet the fine will be bigger then the ones handed out to clubs that breach the cap.... cause political correctness is bliss :brickwall:

Yep, bent over by the RLPA and new levels of cover ups of player shanagans.

Even when he talks you just get the impression his been thrown in the deep end and is drowning.
