Tinkler's $100M offer - It's back on

I have not read anything regard this was wondering if anyone else has, so what happens in 10 years time regarding ownership of the club and sponsorship if the Tinkler deal goes though?

A few mistakes in Buzzes piece. Tinkler did not tell Kade Snowden not to sign with the Sharks. He simple said whats the rush, hold it off for the time being. Considering Snowden said he never agreed and he is off contract.

Bwahahahaha he simply said "what's the rush" never "don't sign". I suppose the money discussed wasnt Tinkler telleing him not to sign.

PS Tell yourself what you like, but Snowden did agree to the contract by way of a phone call from his manager to the Sharks saying so. Also a nice little interview by Snowden with Dean Ritchie the day when this all happened also pointed to it. Remember it? He spoke about loyalty, old school, where his mates are etc etc

It's one thing to love and be passionate about your team, but it's another thing to be blinded by the facts and so one eyed you cant see past them.

Quote from Snowden,

"My manager just said, 'It's a good deal, do you want to agree to the terms?' And I said, 'If it's a good deal, OK then'."
You ask again if he shook hands on it? "Oh, no, we'd only just talked over the phone, to my manager.
"I've come into training yesterday and they've said like, 'You've got a big media conference with everyone this afternoon.'
"And I said, 'Can't we do it after everything is done? I don't really want to get out there and talk.'
"And they said, 'Oh, well, they're coming so we'll try and get it over quick'. I was still getting a massage after training and that's when my manager rang and said, 'I don't reckon we should do this conference, we should have a look at this other deal."'

So Tinkler rings his manager, who obviously gave out Kade's number, and the Sharks are pushing him to go too a press conference before he has signed.

You are interpretting the facts to meet your argument, but if you read the article it sounds like a kid who was being pushed and has his own concerns even before Tinklers call.

Anyhow as I have previously said this is a topic for another thread. Not the thread about Tinklers offer to buy the club.

1. The main point in all this..... Kade's manager represting him called the Sharks and said Kade has agreed to the contract. No hand shake is required. The comments above were from a kid back peddling.

2. If he was being pushed and not sure why did he comment as below....
AT 1.15pm yesterday, NSW prop Kade Snowden told The Daily Telegraph exactly why he wanted to remain with Cronulla for the next two years.
"I'm old school," Snowden said. "I am all about loyalty and respect. That is the way I was brought up. I love Cronulla and all the boys are my best mates. Loyalty means a lot to me."
Fifty-five minutes later the precise extent of that loyalty was revealed when Snowden refused to attend his own press conference in the face of a $1.6 million counter offer, believed to be from the Newcastle Knights.

In a way it does belong in here as it was Tinkler that threw the spanner in the works which was wrong in sooo many ways. It showed the way he does business and the way he will run the Knights.

I love his money, but not him.

I am happy that he cared enough to do something, Kade shouldn't have to re-sign right now with Cronulla, he should focus on being a dominate forward for the Sharks and seek his true worth. If that is what Tinkler has done for him then good on him. Whether Kad signs with the Sharks or the Knights or Super Rugby he should not sell himself short and that is what the Sharks were trying to do.

BTW I like Tinklers money and the way he does business, you look at what he and Ken Edwards have done for the Jets, Beckham game, sponsorship increases, ticket prices and they almost made the finals when at the beginning of the season they couldn't win a game. Signing Socceroos, and international players.

You can say what you want but the man wants success, and to get there you have to tread on some toes. Kades own manager had no problem with it, the Sharks ahve gone quite about it and frankly the Knights management have not said anymore about it. Yet Magumba (the conscience) has a problem with it.

Ching ching $$$$$$$$... Of course he doesnt mind. Could be worth another $30,000 in his own pocket if Kade signs with us lol HELLO lol

There will be a honeymoon period when Tinkler is approved (and it will happen) however Im worried about the divorce later down the track. It could be messy.

Magumba you seem to have a huge problem with the Tinkler Snowden saga. You do realise nothing is set in stone until pen is put to paper. If you hated on everybody who went back on their word because they found a better deal somewhere else, you'd be hating on half the people in the world. Until you've signed the contract, anything goes.

If anything the only person you should be despising is Kade. Tinkler has done nothing wrong.

G'day Pieguyfly.

I only have a problem with the way Tinkler does business. The Snowden situation was an example only. Effectively Tinkler asked Snowden to breach an agreement. Your wrong in saying that untill you sign an a contract anything goes.

Don't get me wrong. The money will be awesome for us. Financially we will more that compete with the rest. But Im worried about the stability of the club internally once it's his. I hope I'm wrong. Only time will tell.

Tinkler will take over by the end of March!!! Would still like Tew and Burro gone!!!

Still needs to pass the vote (which I'm sure it will under the new guarentees)

Tew and Burro are most likely gone, but what have they done wrong in this whole saga? They have got a better deal for the whole club. If it was for you guys we would have agreed to the first offer of a maximum spend of 1m/year for 10 years.

100% right there Jonno.

Well daresay if Tinks takes over by March they will be gone by April.

Cant really see anyone working together.

Which is a shame, as I think both sides of the parties mean well.

I wonder if he'll keep Onlslow for recruitment. He's already done a good job here and it would be interesting to see how well he can recruit, now that the club will be more attractive with Tinkler at the club.

The rate he's going, he is doing it all... we've seen the influence he's had on Snowden already. We wont need a CEO, recruitment officer or even a coach at this rate.

Onslow would likely stay, he's been around for a while and worked for us before going to the Dogs.

@ Magumba,

One other thing and this has been said before, If Kade had an accident on the way to training and was unable to play for the rest of teh season, would the Sharks have paid this contract that he had "accepted"?

I am going to say NO!

Would he have a legal right to recover from them? NO

You say he made a handshake agreement and that should be enough, well would it be enough if it were the other way around? NO

Fair call. Love your thought process maddog.

However we have to be careful with that one. Remember the Sharks continued to pay Mannah against the recommendation of the NRL whilst he was ill.
