The Tinkler thread

Don't we have that other group to fall back on? The one who was trying to take over at the same time as Tinkler?? So either way were fine...
 
I'm not concerned. But Nathan needs to step up and adress all this speculation in the flesh. Hearing it from the horses mouth will make everyone feel at ease. He didn't become a billionaire by accident.
 
No one but Tinkler and a few of his employees know what his real financial position is.
I've seen speculation in the financial sections that he is worth anywhere between nothing and 500 mill, and it all depends on how much money he has borrowed and how much he owes still, and he is the only person who knows that.

Burraston knew what everyone else who reads the financial papers knew - that he was the very definition of a cowboy operator who may end up filthy rich like Holmes a Court, or may end up broke and in gaol like Alan Bond.

I've always said I didn't mind Tinks throwing his money at the Knights, but i'd never invest any of my money with him.

I think the club pays his contract though, so if we can't afford to give him the 1 to 2.5 million a year that is his contract, we'll have to release him or ask him to take a paycut.

It'd be interesting to see what his decision would be. After a year & a bit he probably has this plan in his head about the squad now, he has all the players he wants & probably feels attached to the team & feels like he belongs so i'm sure it would be pretty crap for anyone in that position to be released & have to find a new team 1 year into a 4 year contract & in the start of pre-season.

But could he afford to take a paycut, because doesn't he need the money to help out his family & their struggles?
 
HSG and the Herald have not seen eye to eye recently. I think they've even been banned from press conferences IIRC.

I'm not really aware of the history of the Knights before the mid 90's so why didn't Wests enter a team in the NSWRL back in the day?
It seems like the Knights have always struggled, and Wests have the backing of a leagues club which the Knights never have.
 
I love it how everything Tinkler has done has become news worthy now. Even though everything repeats itself you begin to wonder what is old and what is new.
Even giving up a coporate suite worth 165k which the spokesperson claims was never really used anyway.
 
About time a player has spoken up like this in Tinkler's defence. All the reports of players not getting paid etc are simply idiotic yet hundreds believe it and think we're in all sorts. What a joke.

Btw I found it funny the amount of times Mase called him 'Tinks' too

I sincerely think that Tinkler needs to front the media and put our fears to rest.
 
What gets me is the Media make out that every cent that goes to the players or the club comes from tinklers pocket , Which is obviously not true as we have Millions coming from sponsors but that is never mentioned ....

He tried to, it was very vague and he knows anything he say will be twisted against him. HSG are handling this well. There's no point of coming out and denying everything written every day because that's just silly.
 
Well that video follows the line of thinking for a few of the more level headed replies I've read in this thread. The situation is most definitely a worry, as I'm sure the big man is. So he's worth 40% of what he was a little while ago and didn't get his dividends.

Seems he is still set but just has to keep the wolves at bay whilst hoping that coal prices go up or he can establish new avenues of income.
