He doesn't need to worry about backing up. Just get the ball to the player that needs it and make his tackles. That should be his only focus.

To have any chance in this competition I think you need your hooker to be a genuine threat with the ball in hand, I'm not sure we get that with Randall.

See what annoys everyone about you is that you’re so smug in your wrongness. 2021 crowd stats are obviously COVID affected.
There were multiple rounds where games in Queensland were allowed to have spectators while games in NSW were not, or had larger restrictions. That’s leaving aside the fact that the back end of the season was played in a SE Queensland bubble, so you had NSW clubs/Melbourne/NZ playing “home games” at Lang Park or CBUS… or did you honestly look at crowd figures which showed the Titans getting way more people along to games than Souths and think “yep, that seems likely”?
Go have a look at the last seasons leading into COVID and tell me who the top two are in those years.

Randall is on minimum wage.
I think he's been getting better and better the more he trains with the top squad in the last few years, and this year he has got the chance to be the first choice hooker all preseason, working with Joey and Bedsy etc.
You never know when a player has peaked, but I'll be amazed if he hasn't made massive gains this off season - going from the 3rd choice hooker playing in the B team last year to being the main focus of all the coaching and training staff this year.
I hope we look after him in the early rounds and only ask him to do 60 minutes or so, and let him work up to 80 minutes when he is ready.
Any way you look at it, he'll be earning every penny we pay him if he can do an adequate job, and be bargain of the decade if he puts in some Brailey like performances.

Old.boys round 2020 he made a lovely break early in the game to set up a runaway try for Kp. I think he has a bit of threat about him.
