The pre-season thread - 2022

That's better than we have had for a fair while, with the rest of the squad getting a full pre season. Only one long term and it's half as long as first feared.

Gonna miss brailey though
 
It's as much the Knights fault/problem as it is the Herald's.
If the Knights are not getting as much free publicity, it should be them making sure the scoops are getting delivered and not wait for Toohey to ring before dropping any news.

The Herald had a article yesterday where they basically said that covid nearly killed them off, and would have except for things like jobkeeper subsidies.

In short, it would pay the Knights to drop daily scoops to the Herald, just so they can keep getting free publicity.
 
It does seem sort of amazing it's still going in this day and age. I'd think a lot of people get it mainly for the Knights coverage, so if that's fallen off then they will struggle to survive.

I haven't visited their website for years since they started charging for it, unfortunately.

IMO, it has been common practice by most of the Fox Sports commentators to underrate the Knights in general, for whatever reason...I also saw Ennis say Bulldogs to finish 6th-10th this year?! A lot of it is click bait journalism to fuel controversy and get punters attracted to their website to sell advertising dollars.

Lets face it, nobody ever goes back and looks at what commentators predicted at the start of the season because nobody really cares.

At the end of the day, they can all have their opinions before a footy has been kicked this season but it will count for squat when the comp starts.

Might be good to name and list predictions by so called experts and commentators such as Ennis and have a look at end of season, bit like our “mark my words” thread, would be a good laugh😂🤣😂
 
I can’t see finishing below St George, Bulldogs, Brisbane, Tigers or the Cowboys. Even without a recognised halfback we still have better rosters and coaches than these sides. No way we come 15th.

What scares me most is that Brailey made more tackles than any other player in the comp in 2021. And his service was quality.
