The pre-season thread - 2022

Cardiovascular capacity is not all that’s involved in match fitness.
Not sure what your trying to get at with this point, I was just stating that he could be fit and ready to play a game of rugby league. Be that in Reggie's, NRL or local comp. His heart will keep beating regardless of where he is playing

It cracks me up that people now seem to rate Tuala over him, after the year of abuse Tuala copped on here until the final six weeks of the season 😂

Hunt will definitely be first winger picked, and should be.
True but I honestly think a fully fit Lee would easily be picked over Hunt. And eventually Dom and Starford have a way higher ceiling.

Article saying we will spend a record $4 mill on pathways - up a million on last year. It doesn't say how much of that is to fund the new NRLW side.

Also says turnover will be about $38 million for the club and we will make a profit for the 5th year in a row since wests took over. Gardner says the size of the profit will depend on how well the firstgrade side goes.
All 9 teams will be based at the centre of excellence by early next year.

Hymel Hunt is the most underrated player on this forum.

He's our best option at wing, and our second best option at centre - and people have him as a good depth player 😆
I Actually forgot about Hunt But Lee wont be fit by the sound of it so Hunt there for sure .

Lee has only had a small injury in his foot that made it difficult to put a lot of pressure on his foot.
I don't know how much he was incapacitated, but he has been walking around normally and I imagine he would have been able to do many activities that don't involve a lot of weight bearing - exercise bike, rowing machine, some weights.
He is trying to save his career, so he might have been doing all he can and be in the shape of his life apart from not being able to actually run.
I don't think he would have been sitting around and be starting from scratch now. I think he'll be as fit as he can be, and since he has been able to use a wide range of equipment, he should be in good nick.

Our right side is the oppositions attacking left side. Most teams have a stronger left edge attack so lets get our right side defensively strong.

He would have been non weight bearing on that foot for about 3 months of this year. You lose a tremendous amount of muscle mass when that happens. It’ll be his strength and explosiveness that’s lacking not his cv fitness

You seen the guy? Not a spec of muscle mass on him. His as lean as he is tall. Don't think that's anything to worry about.

Good interview with Brodie Jones.
He seems a lot more relaxed being interviewed than last year and makes a lot of sense with everything he is saying.
Interesting that he didn't mention Clune when talking about the halves in 2022.
I get the feeling that Crossland and Clifford are firming as our starting halves if we don't pick up anyone else.
His point that Clifford only had half a season with us and went well, and will benefit from an off season with the squad is a good one.

Now that he is relaxed with the interviewers, you can see why he has always been a captain in junior sides. He is smart and calm.
