The pre-season 2026 thread

Tell you what but... Watching that video, Lucas and Best are going to have fun next season
He formed a good partnership with Lang when they killed it that year. But Parra don’t have a Best on there side. And I think it’s fair to say Lucus is as good as Lang was and will be better.

I hope to see him on the wing and being interchangeable with Gagai in the centres (during games)
If history predicts anything about the future which it usually does, he’ll get opportunities at FB through the season but when Ponga is fit, I agree he should play right wing (with Dom switching to the left.)

I know it’s been dismissed on here before but I’d love to see Greg given the #17 role to see what damage he can do through the middle in a 20 minute burst. With other middles around him I’d like to think his barnstorming runs would outweigh any defensive deficiencies.

I think it’s something the coach should look at.

Hastings put up a story on Insta today still wearing Knights gear... I thought he was gone?
Technically NRL deals finalise each year on 31st of October so he technically a Knight till then

KPP was wearing knights gear when him and young training other day but we know he is gone
so it’s just a matter of maybe Hastings needs to save some coin now and not buy some new Nike shorts for his pre season training

with Brown and Crossland starting training late, any early opposed sessions will have to have people like Matt Arthur and Sharpe and maybe even the Hoad twins in the spine positions.
We have let Hastings, Gamble, Brailey, Pryce, Sutton, Riley Jones and even Haami Loza go - so we don't have many options.
Did we let Gamble go? Where?

Like Tallaki (spelling?) for the Sharks. Good idea I reckon.

Could be wrong but pretty certain Hoads are gone

He commented on one of his latest stories about being unemployed, looks like his living in the valentine/warners bay area still though.
Wouldnt be suprised if a newcastle rugby league team hook him up with a job and a contract.
