I went to buy one at 12:12pm and they’d sold out most sizes, madness.

Surely they should’ve expected this. Demand ✅ supply ❌
 
They have definitely created the demand. I usually rock my replica ‘97 as I don’t really love the modern designs.

But boy, I was tempted by this one.

Would be interested in a pre order for manufacturing round 2!
 
I loved that 1996 Sevens jersey since they wore it. I had the opportunity to buy it when I was over there that year, but my 14 year pold self didn't have the $80 RRP. But I've always loved it, and rue the fact I didn't get it.

The 1993 one was released recently, so I've got that (wearing it as I type this, actually!), but it's just not quite the same. The shorter sleeves, the ARL badge, the Stockland and NBN sponsorships just make enough difference for me to be happy with my 1993 version, but still keen to get a 1996 version of and when they ever release it.

This re-imagined version, although nice, still would have had me waiting for a proper 1996 replica. But I still would have gotten this one had the 8 jerseys made not sold out in 3.5 seconds of going on sale.
