No to Fogarty, especially not if it’s for real money. Next time you watch him play, don’t focus on the big boot. Watch his ball playing. Watch the degree to which he’s engaging the line, watch the shape the Raiders (or the Titans when he was there) are in in the attacking 20, look at the kind of space his outside men operate with. Then tell me you still think he’s way, way better than guys like Cogger & Gamble. I really don’t think he is.
I don’t think he’s an O’Sullivan type signing anyway, but he’s really simply not that good in my opinion. Way more comfortable taking the bet on someone with real difference making talent like Brown figuring things out.
I know the Raiders win more with Fog in the team, but there’s a reason he’s clearly being treated as a placeholder until their talented young prospect is ready. That’s his level. If Brown doesn’t pan out as a 7, AOB wants to move him back to 6, and then bring in a do-a-job #7 to play with him besides Cogger, Fogarty will probably still be gettable at that time.
