The Cricket Thread

Sadly I don't think Roebuck is going to rest in peace, given what has come out so far.

Crowe was the right decision though, he topped the County averages that season from what I remember of his autobiography.

Oh yes, Crowe was a great player who did nothing wrong in the whole thing as i remember. He just got an offer to come and play, so he did. Unfortuneately Garner and Richards were part of the furniture down there and when Beefy went there was uproar!

I remember in 1992 England toured New Zealand prior to the World Cup ... Botham arrived late for the tour, missing at least the first test ... because he'd been appearing in a pantomime!

Those were the days haha. But we went along to the Basin to see him, it was a big thing to say you'd seen him play live.

South Africa were going along nicely at 4 for 241 but then had a massive collapse to be bowled out for 266. Also it looks like Watson has done his hammy :fist:

Great to see Cummins take 6 wickets, this test is on a knifes edge. Hopefully Ponting belts a massive 100, wins the match, proves his critics wrong and furthers his career. But god help us if we have to rely on Haddin to get runs.

Shane Watson, Ryan Harris, Shaun Marsh, Mitchell Johnson and Patrick Cummins are all out of the 1st test against the kiwis.

Even though Nz have the lowest test score ever? (21)

26 actually, back in 1955/56.

Man, some people are crap winners, not just from Australia - there was pretty poor comments over here when NZ beat the Australian's at the union world cup, which I thought weren't called for.

Well played Australia in this test I reckon, anyway. They were very good and it was great to see Ponting get a good score. NZ has it's most inexperienced bowling attack in a long time, but obviously it was their top order that well and truely let them down.

Did anyone else se that Youtube video that Chris Martin made about batting on the lunch time show.. I think the NZ batsman should take some advice from that :P

Lets all hope that Hughes gets double figures next game.

It's also good to see Ponting getting great scores, especially when his head is on the chopping block. His strokes are... Majectic.
