BREAKING NEWS: Dean Young brought into the starting side and Michael Ennis back to the bench


Excellent call in my opinion, as Ennis can provide more of a spark when he comes off the bench than Young could have.

Fantastic team effort, but Morris letting that 2nd try in and Ennis' kick that led to the match winner:mad:

My line-up for game 2 would be the exact same team, except with Hayne in for Morris and Gidley in for Ennis (leave Young at hooker)
 
It was a great game, but there were some ****ing **** calls by the refs. E.g. Pearce's forward pass and when Uate got stripped. IMO Jennings justified his spot in the team.
 
It wasn't Ennis' fault that his kick led to the match winner. The team didn't chase very well. The Pearce hate is also just friggin unjustified bias. He played well, maybe should have ran more but he didn't have a lot to work with! Everybody get over your short sightedness, they gave it a great dig and didn't do much wrong.

Yeh cos Hayne would be much better on the Wing.......

Dugan went alright but Hayne should be the Fullback.

HE NEVER SHOULD HAVE KICKED!!
4th tackle, and no one knew that he was going to do it. Take the run and let Soward (the man who they picked for his KICKING game) put the ball deep or into touch.
Pearce was abysmal - no impact in attack, gave away penalties and had a terrible kicking game. Still, I would not replace him for Origin 2, we need to stick strong with the core of our team.
 
I was happy with 90% of the teams effort, some stupid individual plays may have cost us aswell as a few reffing blunders. I thought Jennings, Bird, Uate, Soward and Mannah we're all great! Morris, Pearce, King and Gasnier we're pretty ordinary the entire night, not impressed at all!

I'd keep Pearce in for game 2 only due to the fact I don't want to see Mullen and would rather him for Newcastle. Only changes I would make for game 2 would be ... Hayne for Morris, Gidley for Young and Learoyd Lahrs for King.

He couldn't have been worse!!
Dugan cannot be replaced. You can't pick the 'future' fullback of NSW and then drop him after a very impressive debut.

Agreed. Mullen probably would have been worse.
 
NSW's 4 props = 170 metres
QLD's 4 props = 494 metres

Yet again our front rowers let us down.
Luckily our 2nd row picked up the slack to keep us in the game.

Pearce kicked continually on the full for Slater and co' throughout the game, through a foward pass off the kick off and jammed our fowards up by throwing flat, predictable hospitable balls to them. He was ok in defence and supported for the try but I can't see much else he did that was right.

Hayne has carved it on the wing for the Blues numerous times before, Morris has continually ruined opportunity's and was caught out numerous times tonight.

Hayne has got to be in there somewhere, and apart from 1 error under immense pressure from Dugan he was near faultless at the back.
