****. It might not effect first-grade too much seeing as Sione probably would have dropped out when Mullo came back but it'll be disappointing that he might miss the NYC's run into the finals.

You could tell after Glasby hit him high he was struggling a bit for the rest of the match. Hope it isn't broken but unlikely that it will come out good :(

Sione was hit in the face twice last night and Slater leant on face while he was on the ground just after he had been hit the first time. :@:@:@

Scum.

We didn't even get a penalty for the tackle on Sione either, so Storm have no place complaining about refereeing, imo. Enjoy your time on the sideline, Glasby.

Bad news for NYC. :(

Just typical scumbag Storm players, Besides the Bullgrubs they are the dirtiest players in the comp

Glasby hit Sione twice if I remember correctly

The judiciary has proven that injuries get taken into account so Glasby should get 4-6 weeks imo

Poor Sione, hope it's not as bad as first thought. Same goes for Robbie, hope he's ok as he's copped a couple of head knocks this yr. I wish he'd wear headgear.

That's such a shame but he's a champion kid, hopefully it doesn't leave him on the sideline for the season and he can return in time for perhaps a prelim final or perhaps the big one.

Scum Storm. Just disgusting.

I remember in 2006 Luke Walsh had to be named on the bench in under 20s and in the last minute of games he would throw down his crutches (not quite that bad) and wander onto the wing for a second to qualify him for the final series.

As long as it takes to tell the trainer you're not coming off if your name's John Sattler.

Sione was just as brave last night. If you watch that GF, Sattler didn't get tackled that much after the break. Sione kept running hard and didn't let the injury hinder him at all. :)

If it's broken he will be out a minimum 6 weeks meaning he'll be very lucky to play the NYC prelims and GF if we make it. Let's hope it's not that bad.

I felt so sorry for him when Glasby hit him just as hard in the mouth again the second time, it would of killed in pain but he kept playing hard and still ran the game high of just under 200 metres!

Sione was great and anyone that takes the field in first grade gets marks for their toughness. That being said I wouldn't like to be carrying anything in a game back in them days.

Injury update after Round 22

Young Newcastle Knights fullback Sione Mata'utia will have scans on Monday for a suspected broken jaw, suffered in Saturday night's win over the Melbourne Storm at Hunter Stadium.

Mata'utia was on the end of a high tackle early in the second half but managed to finish the game.

The 18-year-old was a late inclusion, when Jarrod Mullen was ruled out.

Captain Kurt Gidley shifted back into the halves for the youngest of the Mata'utia brothers to line-up for his third NRL game at fullback.

Mullen is expected to return in Round 23, when the Knights host the New Zealand Warriors at Hunter Stadium, so too is Beau Scott.

The other injury concern from the match was Robbie Rochow, who came off with concussion late in the game.

He will need to pass the required concussion tests this week.

What's the general timeframe for a broken jaw?

Depends where the break is and how 'broken' it is. A small fracture not to close to the 'jaw joint' could be as early as 4-6 weeks, closer to the joint or a more serious fracture and it could be 8+ weeks.
