I was only havin a joke for the record. Yes i did mean north and south islands lol. Still i dont think they hsould be allowed to play AUSSIE origin

Nah it wouldnt work. Maybe if they did it in Rugby Union, that could take off. But I dont think league has enough country wide support here.

You wouldn't understand, think of it like Hull FC v Hull KR x100.

Frizzed mate, the Glasgow Old Firm derby - Celtic vs. Rangers is essentially Catholic vs. Protestant - the whole Northern Ireland thing. Running battles inside and outside the ground, dozens of fans in hospital, more in prison - that's emotional hatred at an extreme. I don't see NSW/QLD being anything like that.

I doubt a NZ origin would be as popular or as commercially viable. We tried it with Lancashire vs. Yorkshire but it fizzled out.

I know its got nothing on Celtic v Rangers but that is soccer, I was trying to put a rugby league twist on it to make it easier for you to understand, however it failed to work.

I do take your point Frizzed. The comparison with the Old Firm may have been a bit strong but the way Geyer portrays Origin is as if it's right up there and people outside Australia wouldn't have the same pride in the jumper as those who were born and bred in NSW/QLD.

Origin would work with players from NZ or Europe or anywhere else but commentators like Geyer see Origin as being some kind of eliminator for an Australian Test spot rather than a separate thing which it should be.
