"Rampaging prop Richie Fa’aoso will wear the maroon and white from next season, signing a two-year deal with the Manly Warringah Sea Eagles.

The 28-year-old, who’s currently playing for the Melbourne Storm, said he’s looking forward to making the northern beaches his home.

“I'm honoured that such a great club as Manly has given me an opportunity to continue my NRL career,” Fa’aoso said.

“I'm looking forward to the challenge of establishing myself within such a strong team.”Coach Geoff Toovey said Fa’aoso will be a great boost to the Sea Eagles’ forward pack.

“Richie will be a strong addition to the team next year and provide some extra depth for us,” Toovey said.

“He’s a talented footballer with great impact and we’re excited to have him onboard.”Fa’aoso has played 131 first grade games since his debut for Penrith in 2004 and five Tests for Tonga.

How Wayne would rather Cuthbertson over Richie is beyond me. He was one of my favourites here and it'll suck seeing him in Storm and Manly colours.

Well, Cuthberston has 2.5 years left on his contract, Fa'aoso had 0.5 years. One is easier to get rid of, although I'm sure there is a reason why he rates Cuthbertson more hence why he brought him here.

It will suck seeing him in any other colours but its done and to be fair Cuthbertson is a different type of player and does get a lot of balls away in the tackle also his game is improving each week hopefully they will sign a big bopper to do what Richie did.

There's gotta be some personal preference too, i mean Cuthbo had played under Wayne, Faas hadn't. Just like Hasler at the Dogs, if he got Foran he would have him over Reynolds at 6 just on personal preference.

Richie still isnt named in first grade for the storm though...

No, and if he can't make it after their effort against Canberra last week, I can't see him cracking first grade again this season, to be honest.

I hope the Manly move goes well for him ... although ... Manly - of all sides to join! :@

He could be a late inclusion, Bellamy said last week that he would make some changes but today came out with a side that was exactly the same so who knows. I wanna see Richie in first-grade though!!

This time next year, Fa'aoso would have played in 4 club's jerseys within the space of 18 months, Newcastle, Cronulla (Melbourne's NSW Cup team), Melbourne & Manly. Really adds to his journey man tag!
