He stands tall, thats an issue straight away. I'm not sure if he is scared to put his head into some bothering spots but you've got to become the hip hitter if you are failing up high. His IQ is pretty rubbish aswell, you've just got to take on your man and stay in the line. Terrible defenders aren't allowed to shoot.......ever!
 
Recall Penrith having a field day against Sandon in a finals game a few years ago and expect the same in a few weeks times regardless of who plays us.

What are the options? His attack is doing the job without Brown mostly OK, but like you said James he is being targeted and failing badly. Do they replace him because of his defence? With who?
 
The dude is a good player. It's funny, he could very well be the best halfback we've had at the club since Pearce besides Dylan Brown, but because he's arrived at the same time as Brown, and we have Sharpe really taking off as a specialist half now, there's a fair few on here who talk about him like he sucks lmao. If he'd come through our pathways and been a fixture in place of Hastings/Cogger over 2024/25, I reckon he'd get a lot of love.

I agree he had a good game Friday. He has a little bit of the Luke Brooks problem where he's the last guy you want making the next decision after a big line break, I think he's come up small in some of those situations where there's a lot of pressure on you to make what should be an easy decision - I reckon he tenses up, overthinks it - but he's otherwise provided creativity & done a good job of bringing our other key guys into the game.
 
Yeah couldn’t really fault his defence on Friday which is fantastic given how well Souths are capable of attacking

Would’ve gladly had him here the last few years. There’s no doubt we don’t make it this far without him, given all the injuries we’ve had. Shows the importance of spine depth.

Think for the first time in a long time there actually is quite a lot of good young halves around, they just need to be given some time and patience - Smith, Galvin, Katoa, Savala, Sanders, Black, Pezet, Harrison, Walsh, Faulalo,

Then you’ve got the older ones that just needed a decent uninterrupted opportunity like Trindall, Boyd, TMM, Metcalf, Volkman

Cant help but think that Boyd's career, particularly his early career, would've looked much different if he was in a better system than that of the Titans.

First opportunity he got at the Warriors he looked like prime 008
