You keep blaming the players Adam, you need to Google the word denial.

We have some talented players and a decent coach would have the other players playing better than they have been.

Your time at the Knights will be judged as a failure, you might get a head coach job in the ESL if you are lucky.

You have no idea what I know.

Chiming in as someone who has given up on watching Knights games because they're just so god damn boring. I've never switched teams in my life. I'll go for the blues no matter what punishment they give to us. But being born and bred in Canberra it's hard to not get tempted to just throw this team away and go for the Milk with my older brother. At least when the Raiders suck they're still fun. I genuinely cannot remember a time apart from the 10 in a row that I actually enjoyed a Knights game. Rugby League is one of the most entertaining sports on planet Earth, so to make it this unwatchably boring is no mean feat. AOB ball sucks and it's losing supporters. Had to get that off my chest, sorry.

It’s tough times but hang in there and don’t lose faith mate. If you’re young enough, you may even see a top 4 finish in your life time.
 
Just been watching early late 90s 00s man we had such a gun team, im surprised we didn't win more comps tbh
Not sure how this club lost the winning culture but we need a coach to bring that to the players i do think we need guys like Johns brothers Buderus Gidley's even Simpson back in some form of coaching.

This is true and fair, though its also the case Coburn is probably a poor judge by default of his continued support for OB.

People will have their minds blown when they watch this squad play under a different coach. If.

It’s all only opinions really. Everyone is entitled to one. No one here (well at least 99.99% of us- I’d dare say there is a few lurkers) are just fans with Zero ideas of the inner sanctum of the club.

The only opinions that matter are the BOD/club. Gonna be a lot of raging next year if he coaches on in 2026!

Its just a dumb excuse. It truly is dumb. We've got 6 years worth of data to support the argument for his sacking. We've left nothing to chance. Nothing. That's the saddest part. We knew what we know now back in 2022 and decided to 'make sure', well we certainly made sure

We made sure Ponga would never win a premiership at Newcastle. We made sure that fans would endure years of humiliation.

Fair enough with people on the forum. But I don’t get why a board member would come out and comment in support of a coach that’s clearly got this side playing poorly. Does anything need to be said?

Would you expect the board to come out and call him rubbish? Of course not. I suspect they're just laying the foundation for keeping him on if they can't find someone better.

Agree, something very wrong with this club unfortunately.

But the coach has a very big impact on the players and game itself.

Changing the coach can change assistants, trainers running messages, support staff etc.

People just want the club to change direction, change attitude, change strategy, and the coach has a huge impact on that.

Take the issue with the wags this season, a coach has a big impact on how that pans out, where one coach may just manage the issue with selections, another may be a better man manager, better connected to or care factor for the whole club community and bring people together for a resolution.
 
It’s clear as day that his coaching style is dead. Anyone who says anything about how many player injuries the team has had this year, remember that at full strength the team couldn’t score ANY points.

And after today, we had several instances where unmarked colleagues either couldn’t catch the pass or the pass was so woefully bad that there is no way it could be caught.
To support Lefty’s point, we can’t do the basic skills of the game that other teams take for granted.
This is where we are, and we deserve the label as the worst team in the NRL.
