Rumour: Knights to make a play for Jarryd Hayne and let go of big name player

I read this article earlier and laughed most of the way through it. Standard post season dribble because there's no real reports.
Would be great but you'd be kidding yourselves if you think it's a possibility

We're getting to be like the roosters, anyone who can catch a ball is linked to us... The only difference is the roosters actually sign some of their rumours up

There will be some rorting of the system involved somewhere bet you whatsit on it! Anything for the rabbits, chooks, storm and broncs. Sure to keep 'em in the top four if at all possible.

Why will the NRL help teams that are over the cap and yes they did sort out our tinkler mess, but they had no choice and we are in much stronger postion than the other NRL controlled clubs, hyperthetically if we said "Hey NRL board" we still have 1.5 million left of our salary cap we want to go after either Sam burgess/izzy falou/ jarryd hayne can u spot us $800 grand ... think theyd lend it?

Even if we just buggered off deadwood would be a bonus, would love to punt people like Pat, Chanel, Uate, and Houston.

That only would be a bonus.

Lol do you want a team? Would have been fine a few months ago, but right now we are barely fielding a team, we need everyone we've got, even Houston! It was only a few months back when I thought we were signing both Tolman & Matagi & I looked at that & thought our depth was gonna be amazing. :(

Don't depress me lol.

Did you really think that Joshhh? I'm amazed with a guy of your experience!!

I think we were looking at Tolman when Hagan was in charge of recruiting, and stopped talking about it when Brown took over.
All the Brown signings have been young guys so far. I don't think he will sign anyone in their late 20s.

I've also heard Brown mention the Bellamy method of recruiting forwards - get a guy who you know will give 100% and tell him his one job is to run as hard as he can, or whatever. So that would agree with what you say, we most likely won't be making any big forward signings ... like the Storm don't.

What do you base that on?
The only proof besides people saying they "knew someone who works for Knights told them" was a dodgy article where the Knights possibly showing interest used up a paragraph.
Marathon stadium jumped on board and spoke about it a lot but there was next to no mention outside this forum..

So you don't know in other words.

Hayne will stay at the 49ers and take his chances. if he does get some game time, another Club may be interested later in their season.

You're talking nonsense right now, you simply do not know if we weren't interested.

By saying "we were never signing Tolman" means that you must in some way know inside recruiting info... Which you obviously don't.

Barry Toohey said on twitter that Tolman's manager came to us, but for us to sign him would have required us to offload a few players and for the Bulldogs to release him. Which was never going to be an overnight process. I think going from all I've read it was definitely a possibility for a while. There's not that much smoke without fire.

Best guess is Brown wasn't keen ... Toohey even said in one of his tweets that it would have to be approved by the new coach as well (before Brown was announced).
