Round 9 - Eels V Knights - Friday 28 April 6:00pm - ComBank Stadium

Be good to get a hard fought win against para.. then come into the bye the following week for the rest

No running dummy half, no win.

That was the take away from the Cowboys game and we sure as hell don't look getting Crossland to perform that way anytime soon.

Are we better off starting Mann in the 9 as he does like to scoop and run, gamble in the 13 and crossland on the bench.

We can match it with them in attack, but i'm worried about them taking advantage of KP/Best/Marzhew edge defense. In the trial, Moses was toying with that side, he wasn't even looking to kick on last tackles, he was finding results every time.

To be honest, It doesn't matter what formation we go with It Isn't going to have the Impact we would like It too.

Article about Ponga.
Says he had 10 runs and 7 tackles against the Cowboys and quotes Ponga as saying he tired very quickly and was just glad to get through the game. The article points out he didn't play full minutes in his earlier games this year and hasn't played a full game since mid last year.
Despite that, the article also quotes O'Brien, Payten and Johns saying he was an attacking threat and will only get better.
It's a good article in that it points out that he can't realistically be expected to just pick up where he left off and will need to build back to his best.

Yeah you could see he was gassed pretty early on , i did like that he was still a threat every time he touched the ball even though he was obviously struggling with match fitness.

I think I mentioned it before also. He has not played much footy. He just needs to stay on the park. Yes the combinations looked clunky. That will take some time too. We also looked clunky the first few with Gamble. So we will need to be patient with Ponga. If he plays Origin, we have a great back-up 6 gamble.
