Jesse had a player option for 2 more years but was a free agent, she didn't break her contract. Understand the disappointment with her being a local especially but for all of the rumour and innuendo, every time she's been asked she has very bluntly said she wants to keep learning as a player and feels she's finally doing that again at the Broncos. That's not the usual empty cliche. She had to be talked into staying for the last year here in the first place after asking for a release (and the Broncos still had Broughton and Brigginshaw in the halves at that point). She didn't want to be at the Knights anymore and still would've gone elsewhere if things didn't work out with the Broncos.

Speaking of moving on, for the last 2 games of NSW cup our 7 has been Lisa Fiaola (under 17s) halfback Sybella Pike, and she has more than held her own.
She has been partnered with Tarsha Gale 6 Sienna Thomas, who was pretty close to player of the match. She is on a development deal - same as Lucy Spain, but I don't think she's robust enough to use this year.
Sybella scored a try and kicked 5/5 goals.
Sienna had a hand in most of our tries.

Yeah it's hard to look at the pair of them with anything other than disdain. Remembering also that they both had several years to run on the contracts they ditched to leave. Pea-hearts, the pair of them.

I have less of a problem with Tamika than Jesse. She’s not from here and given the situation may have felt Jesse had the right to be the one to stay, given it’s her home town if things were that untenable between them. Plus her grandmother was ill so I can understand wanting to go home.

Personally I’d have preferred to keep Tamika if given the choice. She’s a once in a lifetime player, who essentially single-handedly won us a GF. Whereas, I think we look better this year without Jesse, with Georgia and Kira in the halves. Seems to suit everyone else better too.

Jesse was entitled to leave though, she was off-contract so be it. Will be interesting to see if it lasts up there if things go sour again
