Players should only be as safe as their performances. I remember Rick Stone commenting that he couldn’t relegate guys on the big coin. I wish I could remember which player it was he was being asked about. I feel like it’s the same with AOB. When they sign contracts there should be a stipulation that if they don’t play within a certain bracket of expectation then they can move them on regardless of how many years they’ve signed on for.
There’s absolutely no excuse. Look at Gagai, the guy is in his 13th year and plays like a demon every game. Sure he has the odd blunder but it’s not through lack of trying and even during our 3 wooden spoons he was by far our most determined soldier. Why can’t guys follow his method?
