Knights should complain to Sutton about the number of times Ponga is wacked in the head, most of which don't even result in a penalty. Having a Marquee player come off the field looking like a squashed pumpkin isn't a good look, it'll probably happen more and more the better he gets.

Definitely and Pearce should be in the refs ear every time. He cooped 4 high shots yesterday for no penalties and Chad's brain explosion.

The Brodie Jones try assist is worth a mention.
He has always had that in him. He even played a bunch of games at 5/8 in under 18s.
He has also been a big try scorer for a forward.
He runs some very good lines and makes some very good decisions near the line.
If he gets to play a lot of football over the next few years he'll bring a lot of variation to the team as he gets more comfortable.
and he's from Cessnock :applause:

Thoroughly enjoyed that, although a bit worried we have a few walking wounded in the week leading up to roosters (most concerned about Barney limping off).
Kind of gone unnoticed in a team full of great performances, but I was impressed with Star again. Two tries and loves a tough carry- wondering how our outside backs line up with Best and Eddy coming back in???
Felt sorry for Klem with the no try call- Hope he gets off the nudey run soon.

Outstanding performance. I was worried when Cronulla got the early try but we took control after that and they resorted to cheap shots.

Was really impressed with Lino, he was the link between Pearce and Ponga and his kicking options were on point.

Great effort from our forwards, particularly the middles. Klemmer and J Saf were great and King and Ese were awesome playing limited minutes.

One thing I enjoyed from last night was Fitz pumping up other players when we had a bit of fortune come our way, like a fumbled ball by the Sharks or good tackle on them. I’m sure he and others do it more than just last night, but I noticed it happening plenty last night and it really exemplified the effort from us in the game.

I’ve noticed this the last few weeks. He’s their ultimate hype man- he’ll run from the other side of the field to celebrate an opposition drop ball.
It must feel good for him, the safs etc after all those brutal years, that they’re going to enjoy a finals campaign.

Lino’s short and long kicking game was terrific. I was particularly impressed with his bombs from 40-50 out that were pinning the Sharks back line deep within their ten. Was giving us great field position time and again. What helped more was Pearce finding a way to do the same. They dominated the kicking game and look what happened. Must remain Lino & Pearce for rest of year and arguably start of next unless we pull a rabbit out of the hat at 5/8 or Phoenix turns into the next best thing in one off season. Note to wind up merchants and sensitive Sally’s who hate a rumor.......Foran is not said Rabbit. Lols!!

Boy what a change - my missus cleaned up the bottles this morning and asked if I was thirsty and I said they tasted better than after last week efforts where not only couldn’t I drink but was off my food.

what a turn around in attitude , whatever happened last week bottle it.

Often Ponga gets hit high due to his low running style and change of direction towards the line. It allows him to do what he does. I'm sure he is so cool about it because it's probably always happened. The running style hasn't been coached.

Now this isn't the case every time and I agree he has been hit a couple of times each game. It has been happening since Browny was here and I think he mentioned it in a presser.

It would be interesting to see Dally M points table now.
Ponga was 10 points behind the leaders before it went behind closed doors.
Since then he has had 2 games where he got over 100 fantasy points, and would have got 6 Dally M points from those games, and if the judges in the other games were Ponga fans, he could have picked up 6 to 8 points more.
Cam Smith was favourite - 9 points ahead of Ponga - but has missed several games with injury since.
With 3 games to go, Ponga must be in with a chance.
He would be on something like 12-16 points now, and the winner will probably score in the low 20s. 9 more points in the last 3 games and he'd be hard to beat.

Nathan Cleary would be a hard one to pass up on, he’s probably gotten points in most and if not every Panthers win so far.

Literally no one but the media wanted to make the biggest possible deal out of it which is laughable because that’s what the pathetic media do but oh well I guess if that’s the case.

Chad is going to miss 3-5 weeks for his shot on Ponga.

I'm sure he will plead guilty and take the 3 weeks.

Very convincing win over the biggest flat track bullies of recent times. Finishing 6th with the sharks 7th would be the easiest walk into the 2nd week of the finals.

Ponga was exceptional when given early ball. Why this hasn’t been the case all year I’ll never know.

Forwards dominated from the start.

The sending off to Townsend in my opinion was very soft. The ref called a stop to play sure but Townsend was already launched and couldn’t pull out. It was very reckless but I don’t think he hit him high. Should of been 10 in the bin.

If they were going to send off a sharks player in that game it had to be Graham’s in the first half. That was as dangerous of a spear tackle of recent times.

Lot's of old players saying Townsend couldn't pull out of the play after the whistle was blown.
Ponga pulled out. He had stopped and relaxed and wasn't even looking, which made it look a lot worse when he was hit by a guy who was going as hard as he could.
