I seem to remember Blocker was the one doing the bashing Billy.
 
Billy is too busy looking at stats to know what’s actually going on in the match. Case in point with Fermor and Smith yesterday.

Ponga could have hit his head hard on the ground from that hit. You seem determined to make your point about it being high or not.

To me its irrlevant.

Say it wasnt high a thousand times if you like.

It was late, it was after the playhad been stopped, no attempt to mak a tackle, brutal shoulder charge on a defenseless player. Not sure how this is hard for you to comprehend.

I’ve never stated my opinion matters only you seem to think that I do.

Ahhh ok so every late shoulder charge on a defenceless kicker is deserving of a send off? Or in Saulo’s case 10 in the bin which I said at the time was deserving and same in this instance but not a sending off.

To you it might be but to the NRL it’s totally relevant as they punish more severely on what the outcome is. The outcome in this case is not high and no injury. Thus Townsend not being sent straight to a judicial hearing.

I seem to remember the outcry on this very forum because of Snowden’s shoulder hit on Thompson. He was handed a more severe penalty because of the outcome.

The NRL have made this abundantly clear.

I’ll ask again do you think that would be a send off in a meaningful finals or rep game?

Oh, sorry, all the "How many times to I have to say this" bleating seems to suggest otherwise. My bad.

Do I think it should be, yes. Do I think it would be, no. Refs are gutless to make big calls like send off's in rep games and finals etc.

Guess you can’t reply to the facts of the matter on why it shouldn’t of been a send off.

They won’t because it’s obviously not a send off.

I can reply to any facts you like, as soon as you bring some to the conversation.

This is all opinion, mine, yours, blockers, Gals, KP's, etc etc. We aren't in court.

The ref, the actual one that matters, thought it was a send off and sent him off. The judiciary are laying a 5 week suspension on him with some concession time if he pleads guilty. 5 weeks suspension for fowl play certainly seems send off worthy to me.

Your whole argument is it wasn't high. Oh, and Townsend was committed and couldn't pull out. I've responded to all of your opinions above, don't see any point in going through it again.

So the fact that Snowden got done very severely because of the outcome?

The fact the NRL for years have shown their hand that they react and punish more on the outcome of the incident and not what the incident was.

My opinion has been based off these facts.

3 weeks if it’s an early plea is it not? Remind me how many weeks did Snowden get and he was sent straight to the judicial hearing. Why? Because of the outcome, plain and simple.

Rules change, we move on, what was relevant years ago is no longer, comparing situations etc is not relevant, can discus and argue but it makes no difference to today.
Stop trying to win arguement and make points just put it out for discussion that’s what all these threads are about. You make good sense, know your football but get caught up with those baiting you, unfortunately the mob will win unless you fall back on your knowledge and legitimate arguments, I personally get board with reading 9-10 items of you and anyone else arguing about the points of who said what and what was meant. Unfortunately like the rest of us you may not always be right and if you are we know it but don’t want it rammed down our thought.

Funny, Townsend plead guilty. Ill let the facts stand for themselves. Completely vindicates the send off.

Ponga said he didnt get him high, if you take that as fact, Townsend plead guilty to agrade 3 shoulder charge.

Enough said.
 
So he is agreeing it was a shoulder charge? I don’t think anyone has said otherwise. Really clutching now.
 
I thought he led with a shoulder. Jumped in the air so he could hit Ponga high in the head with said shoulder ... Imo he had all intentions of taking Ponga out of the game . The xxxx should get 10 weeks the xxxxhole .
