You can’t shut the comp down for a month unless you supplement it with something else.

One idea is that we shut it down and play a knockout competition since we have the perfect amount of numbers for a 4 week knockout comp.

Not sure anyone will actually be interested in it but it’s a way to keep the competition unaffected by origin whilst also providing another trophy to play for

Clubs will be dead against playing a niff nuff comp. risking their players in it, that does not count towards the premiership. Clubs don't mind rep football because their players learn a lot from it and improve bringing those skills back to the club.

Yeah you would definitely see some depleted sides much like you see in the FA Cup.

Not saying I’m a fan if it just throwing up some alternatives for those who want the comp stopped for 4 weeks

The origin format could become a 2 game home/away competition with with the scores from both games adding together to determine the champion for the year. Alternating who hosts the first round each year.

After game 1 team changes can be made as they are now.

During those two weeks, no NRL is played, no byes at any other time of the year. Work in some representative games around those weekends for the lower tier nations to compete and gain some exposure, frequent rep games allowing them to improve.

The clubs players get a decent break, those not competing. Injury recovery time etc.

Union does it to play their rep footy and don't seem to suffer for it, like I said play some pacific island teams against eachother and such. I'd rather have a month of the comp stopping and all players are available for all teams at all times, will never happen due to the tv networks but yeah just reckon it would be better.

Anyway.

Just a bit of a side note.....

All officials including the refs (Grant Atkins and Dave Munro) have retained their spots and have not been dropped after our game against Souths last week

Unbelievable.....

Yeah, they're incredibly lucky after some pretty inept calls.

At least they're not officiating us this week...

could work and generate alot of interest if it was an ffa/fa cup style comp (local clubs across the country taking part) and during that break you could play the final 32

The last time the storm lost was against a good team, though that team had a lot of tallent on the side line.
Rd 8 vs the Sharks.
Since then they have whooped the Eels 64-10
Beat tigers 24-22
Beat dogs 28-6
Beat warriors 32-10
Imo they havent had a hard game in a few months and mite not be able to handle our intensity atm.
Going with a 22-10 win for us.
