Round 13 - Knights V Sea Eagles - Sunday 28 May 4:05pm - McDonald Jones Stadium

Pleased for Friz, deserves it been strong.
This game worries me more than most, is crunch time us out of form Manly in form, we could be missing as many players as them, not liking it

Only lost Frizell, having Gagai and Ponga during Origin SHOULD be a big boost for us.

Looks like Manly have picked up Arthur's, so he'll likely replace DCE in the halves for this game.

Sportsbet now have us at $1.50 and the Sea Eagles at $2.60. We are playing at home on a Sunday afternoon, we will only be missing Friz on rep. duties and they will be missing DCE and Turbo.

Who really knows how we will play?

Knights......$1.50........Favourites ha ha. The way were playing and to call us a

favourite, sounds like were a sure thing...

If all we have to replace is Frizz, we could just move Elliott to second row, add Johns or Jones to the bench, and we are done.

Or just give that New Signing Dane Aukafolau a go, as he is top 30 now and already shown a bit more than a few others so far in reserve grade and has some good size and skill, and only way to know wether worth keeping is to get him in there.

I still cannot believe how physically dominant the Sharks were over us on the weekend. Besides Dsaf first stint and Marzhew throughout they completely had their way with us. Besides the Tigers game where we just held on, every victory we’ve had this season has come through us playing 25-30 minutes of power and the other team has not been able to handle us at all. We did not come close in the slightest to replicating that on Saturday and we’ll see what happens this Sunday. I’d assume jurbo isn’t playing with could leave the Manly back quite light and there for the taking.

Recency bias probably doomed Gags, he got clowned on Saturday.
It was mentioned last week or the week before that he wasn’t going to be selected, so it might have already been decided … but Saturday was definitely the nail in the coffin if they weren’t sure.

Thought Dan was selected in squad, Tele saying 18th man
Josh Addo-Carr (Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs)
Nathan Cleary (Penrith Panthers)
Tyson Frizell (Newcastle Knights)
Payne Haas (Brisbane Broncos)
Nicho Hynes (Cronulla-Sutherland Sharks)
Apisai Koroisau (Wests Tigers)
Jarome Luai (Penrith Panthers)
Liam Martin (Penrith Panthers)
Latrell Mitchell (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
Cameron Murray (South Sydney Rabbitohs)
Tevita Pangai Junior (Canterbury-Bankstown Bulldogs)
Junior Paulo (Parramatta Eels)
James Tedesco (c) (Sydney Roosters)
Brian To’o (Penrith Panthers)
Tom Trbojevic (Manly Warringah Sea Eagles)
Isaah Yeo (Penrith Panthers)
Hudson Young (Canberra Raiders)

18th player – Campbell Graham (South Sydney Rabbitohs)

Yeah that’s a big call on Gags and Ponga. Then the Safs not being selected also. I think this should benefit us in those boys it’s a reality check and will want to prove a point you’d think.
Jake was not picked, he’s a huge in for Manly. And Schuster had a great game for them also.

Jake T had his first game back on the weekend and pulled up sore afterwards. You would have to think he's in some doubt for the weekend.

Pangai doesn’t deserve to be picked, it’s happened on the basis of him having one good game on the weekend - probably literally the day Freddy sat down to pick the side 😂

BUT! What’s funny is that the recurring mistake he’s made in selection is that he picks a bunch of big minute middles who aren’t really “impact” players, so he ends up with maybe 25 minutes to go around for two of his bench players, but the players he has for those minutes are Nathan Brown-esque low impact workhorses.

Pangai, whatever else you might say about him, is a guy who can impact a game in 15 minutes of playing time. If Leniu was fit, he’s the player I would have wanted, but Pangai actually makes sense tactically given how he uses his bench.

Wrong process, but it might prove to be a great selection.
