- by the sounds of it i think we are targetting an already established middle forward. May entice them with the run on spot we have up for grabs. either way they will be in our 17 by the sounds, need the depth.

Depth a little thin and bench is light but that's starting to look like a solid team. I'd flick Mann to ressies and give the spot to Brodie Jones, no need to carry Mann as a utility IMO. I'd also probably swap Gags and Mapa

Agree Mann not to be anywhere near first grade.

Gags has to be on the wing!
 
Yep my thoughts exactly Les. Massive spine upgrade both in terms of first choice talent and injury cover, but if one of the starting forwards goes down… 😬

Definitely need a reliable prop who can give you a solid 40 mins off the bench each week and step up to the starting side when needed. Either that or somehow magic up a new starting edge back rower and then use Hetherington as the bench middle.

I think there is plenty of talent in this team and if they play well they can scare the crap out of a lot of teams , AOB just has to get them playing well like they did at the begining of last season but for the whole season this time.

Elliot starts in the 13 and moves into 12 later in the game. Sasagi/Mann comes into 13 for the last 30 minutes or so. Gamble is there for cover of 6/7/9/1 (where ponga shifts out and he goes into 6). Jack and Thompson are replacement props.
 
I dunno how they’ve decided to use Sasagi but if gags goes to wing I wouldn’t mind him playing there until maps is 100 percent ready.
 
If Lucas hadn't got injured I think he'd have forced his way into firstgrade even if everyone was fit by the end of last year.
It's also interesting that two of his last games before injury were at second row and he went well - 17 runs for 165 metres and 18 tackles in his first - 12 runs for 105 metres and 26 tackles in his second - played 80 minutes in both.
He was pretty big last year, and even bigger now.

So Bega boy, come to us few years ago and mostly played left centre although played fullback, centre and 6 for his junior club. Quite a tall human but quick on his feet, beats his man more often then not by pure strength and speed. Has some silk and soft passing in him aswell. Definitely a shadow of best. Hopefully can stay injury free and get a shot.
