Remember that random player?

Brock Mueller
A very small second rower.
My memory of him was a reserve grade game against Canberra in Canberra.
Canberra were the runaway leaders of the reserve grade comp.
They were led by Terry Campese and Ben Cross and were setting scoring records as they destroyed everyone in reserve grade that year.
We played them in Canberra and reports said a storm with driving rain and gale strength winds and near sub zero temperatures hit during the game. Players could barely see each other 20 metres away.
The scoreline stayed at 0 - 0 till right at the end when the Knights scored to win 4 - 0.
Brock Mueller played the full 80 minutes and set a club record for tackles made. I can't remember the number, but about 60 I think.
He was 3cm shorter and 3kg lighter than Tom Cant.
He played 6 games of firstgrade.

Don’t forget his brother Blake also

Went to school with both of them and played junior footy at same club as them
Good old Belmont North Sharks graduates

Also saw another old school mate Josh Perry of 2001 grand final winner status on weekend too

In honour of Tom Starling who will be lining up against the Knights this weekend, how about a few others than only ever got 1 game for the Knights.

Kyle O'Donnell
Tyrone Amey

It’s so sad that we had Danny Levi plodding at Hooker for about 5 years and we only gave Starling 20 minutes off the bench for 1 game before letting him go,

Kyle O'Donnell's was a brutal one.

Much hype around the brother of an established NRL forward, off the bench for his debut and gets knocked out in his first hitup, never to play for the club again.

Greacen has the same sort of backstory as Josh King, Lachlan Fitzgibbon and Zac Hoskings.
King was a fulltime coal miner doing an apprenticeship and split his time between work and football, and got a lot better once he went fulltime.
Hoskings did his carpentry apprenticeship and went onto our part time squad and ran a fulltime business as a builder, but got much better when he went fulltime as a footballer.
Fitzgibbon did a fulltime Uni degree and became much better when he finished.
Greacen has mixed an engineering degree with part time footy and finishes his degree and work experience this year. I expect him to reach his full potential next year.

Kyle O'Donnell looked like a bigger and better version of his brother when he made the Flegg team of the year (or NYC as it was then known) playing for Cronulla.
He was the worst reserve grade player ever - total cat. How he ever got a game of firstgrade is a mystery.

Was he the bloke who got knockedout on debut by a burgess brother

rings a bell - I know he was dominated by every forward in reserve grade - and I have a funny story about his mother.

I went to Wyong to watch a reserve grade game early in the season and some family members of players were meeting each other for the first time. They decided to sit together right behind me, but Kyle's mum excused herself when the game was about to start and went off to sit by herself a fair way from the grandstand. Other's asked why, and Kyle's dad said she needs her space during games. The game started and every time Kyle touched the ball she screamed encouragement so loud she'd have blown the eardrums of anyone near her. Never heard anything like it.

Chris Bailey.

Wasn’t the flashiest, more of a toiler. Played a few positions and could either be rocks or diamonds.
