Bradman Best on his NRL future; key Knights staffer linked with move to rival club
"Hopefully my manager and the club come to some sort of agreement."
Article on Best
Quotes him as saying he'd love to stay and he hopes they can get it done, but also says he'll look at offers after Nov 1 and he has to do what's best for his family now.
Another part of the article talks about POV potentially being poached by the Broncos and says no one is saying if it is happening or not.
Well Best has had an upgraded offer by the club, lets see if he takes it with a real chance of winning a premiership or if he goes and chases the money.
Really hope POS doesn't go, he has been massive for the club and would love for him to stick around and watch us win a premiership.

Fantastic news if it happens.
Just didn't work out here and the spot could be better used.
Arthur should follow.

Schiller is the Forrest Gump of Newcastle, however there is a very good footballer in there but he sometimes plays like he has feet for hands. He would kill it in super league.

I don’t think there’s that much difference tbh.
Let’s say he can get $750K here.
Or $1M at parra.
The Bottom line
Here - $440 post tax, chance to win premierships with a team on the up. You’re getting an origin look in and Australia look in playing for this club with players that can bring out your best.
Eels - $550k post tax , new club, unknown proposition, chance to be in a struggling team and limiting your rep chances.
You’d argue he could make a bit of the $100k with representative jerseys over the year, plus a premiership ring or 2 over the next few years and legacy as a Knights great would certainly be a tempting proposition.
Short career, he’s got a family. Not dirty if he leaves, I get it. But I think it’s a bit more complicated than $1M vs $750K.

Just came here to post this from a Tigers mate who's mail is normally pretty good.

If we somehow get Best and Saifiti done it's the greatest cap management in club history on top of our already stacked roster.

If we take J Saf at his word he’s going to make sure we have Cody and Fletcher Sharpe squared away and then he’ll take a deal which fits with that.
He may really feel like he owes us now, arguably cost us a premiership…

I spent a good portion of the match lamenting the impact he would have had against Collins and Whyte, Frizz and Hopwood held their gloves up but Jacob at this time is a different beast.
Bit sour he is free for the world cup.
