Gags isn't asking for anything, he has a contract with a mutual option at the $400,000. Albeit signed off by previous management. POS playing hardball with a player of Gagai's standing will be noticed by other players. Do you think that's an attraction to join the knights...Why wouldn't the club move him into Pathways on a deal where he can pick up the cash down the track? The Pathways under Dobson and Healy aren't exactly on fire are they.... As for being a part of a premiership....WOW You obviously see something I can't....I hope you are right...😟

That's what most other clubs do, and not over only 100k either.
Ben Hunt taking a pay-cut from $1m to $600k with a job at the Broncs after retirement all OK with the salary cap auditors...
 
I don't think you understand the meaning of the word "mutual".

I don't speculate on what players will or won't think about deals or anything, unless there's credible reporting. I'm happy to say IDK, and I'm not going to guess or make it up to suit a narrative.

I know the club has to work within the salary cap, the top 30 requirements.

I was really against letting him go....
But he did sweet fa this year and when you think back, he had a great 2023, his first 2 years here he was a gun rookie, but other than that he hasn't done much.

The emergence of Sharpe helps.

My view on Pathways is a little different, sure Fletcher Sharpe has been a tremendous success. Jermaine Mcewen wouldve played NRL anywhere. Fletcher Hunt a terrific find. But Pathways are a competition against your NRL rivals and how each club develops these players. This year for example Harold Matts GF
SG Ball missed the finals
Flegg, diabolical saturday (even with Hopgood and Latu) and will miss the finals. Flegg now all POS signings except maybe Loza and Latu....
Cup a couple of recent wins but no finals
NRL no finals IMO
So Dobson Matt Nicoll (Doyle to some extent) and now simone healy are all accountable for both the success and failures' My opinion the Pathways this year not so good.

Elijah sharpe hunt McKewn Lucas, Hopwood 18 year old. Grecean is a solid prospect. Results are sometimes skewed as we have had some many injuries we now have 20 year olds playing first grade teams change all the way through the club when you have the amount of injuries we have had.

It writes off 2026 and means we make a massive play for 2027… hughes is available for 2027 isnt he?

Edit : 2026 is a write off in my eyes already
 
So if all goes well, next year we could have a new competent head coach, amicably parted company with Ponga and had enough time to sign a competent half back.

Next year could be the season where our club starts to progress again.

Nothing so far suggests we are guarenteed a competent head coach ( green and hannay arent very inspiring) at this rate 2026 is going to be shambles regardless of who coaches.
