Just read that Canberra have offered Leo $3.4 mil over 4 years... if true, that's massive overs for him and he's crazy if he doesn't take it.

I hope we don't try to match that offer. We'll get a much better player for $850 k per year.
 
With that kind of money and his partners family from being down that way it would be hard to keep him.
If he goes im sure O'Sullivan will get a worthy replacement.

Players and clubs don't talk about offers.
Managers talk about offers, but usually only a lie to bump up interest.
A few years ago it was always managers saying Newcastle had made some outrageous offer, just to drive up prices.
 
That is a ridiculous offer for Leo, surely it's not real. Canberra are nuts if it is. The only props I would pay that much for are JFH, Tapine and maybe AFB
 
If we did offer 700k offer for 3 years?
We could also upgrade him to 700 for 25.
25-$700k 26-$700k 27-$700k 28-$700k
Total = $2.8mil from 25-28.

If he signs with Canberra
25-$350k 26-$850k 27-$850k 28-$850k
Total = $2.9mil from 25-28.
Plus 850k in 2029

So from 2025-2028 the Canberra offer is only $100k better.
But they have offered an extra year in 2029.

If he does sign with the Raiders it's probably more about family than $$.

That's only if these numbers are correct.

Lately we do. Plenty left when club couldn’t find their own ***.

I have much more faith in them no with current crop. Who knows Linnane and Loza might be the answer in 1-3 years.

Wondering who they go for now. Was talks about Te Marie Martin couple months ago. Be a perfect 7 for you get halves to play with.

I remember when Tapine left people were saying it was crazy money and there's no way we should have matched it. Looks like a pretty decent deal now.
