2. We entering a Premiership window
3. Been a Knight his whole career and now young Bro is here
4. Settled in the area with young growing family

6. He now gets to look at Dom more in the showers

Some things money can’t buy, particularly #5! But seriously, for an extra $100k per annum you could easily trade off $60k to $80k of that with these factors. That prick of a tax man is taking half too!

Chasing the money I can understand, careers are short and can end at any time.

But if your leaving for a small salary increase of say around $100,000, you have to question if that is really worth it

As The Artist Formerly Known as Aku’d said, the cost of living difference between Newcastle and Sydney is substantial. That slight increase will disappear very quickly in Sydney, so much so it would be a net loss and you’ll get to sit in traffic all day for the privilege

If he gets offers of $150,000+ per year more, then that starts making more sense to leave, in my opinion
 
Having lived in both Newy and Sydney, the cost of living isn't that much different. Depends entirely on the lifestyle you have. I wouldn't begrudge Bradman for taking a higher paid offer if it helps set him and his family up.

Interesting take. Sydney is the second most expensive city on the planet for housing affordability.
 
I think a lot of the salaries are pretty private, except maybe higher profile players where it's easier to guess. Those would be off by less then 100k say. For guys like McEwen and Manu we would have no idea, same as the media, the estimates would be more off.
Seems like the only time when things get played out in the media is when Isaac Moses is involved, and has "prominent" journalists on speed dial to leak out stuff in the news.
Lucky that wasn't the case with Lucas but we have taken care of a lot of his clients without blinking whilst AOB was here.
Some times it may be a vibe thing as there's not much difference in looking around, and the guy has no interest in leaving. We've secured plenty of high profile players and club legends who have 'left stuff up to their manager' during negotiations.
Like any club, some leave, some stay. Done a good job to keep the majority who want to stay

The big difference is that I think Bradman has house in Merewther. similar houses in Bondi etc barely exist and they cost a hell of a lot more. More likely he’d be living in a much smaller apartment and spending a lot more time in traffic going to training.
 
I don't think Baz would say it's close to being official with an announcement imminent if he wasn't sure.

It never seemed like either party was THAT far apart in negotiations anyway. But it would be nice to breath with another re-signing done and dusted.
