I'm sure the Dogs supporters will let himBut he's still looking around at who is going to be his pack leader. You are Leo, you are.
Know it if he doesn't live up to expectations

Yeah I read that somewhere recentlyYeah, I was dirty at suggestions that Leo was going to the Dogs for the same or even less money than offered by the Knights. It turns out that's not true. I have no objection to Leo getting paid as long as it goes on the Dogs' cap.
Apparently, it's "Moneyball" to pay overs for a prop. lol
Unless he lifts his game, he will be a hot topic of conversation on the Kennel.I'm sure the Dogs supporters will let him

apparently 825k from dogs per season, was about 875k offer per season from raiders so I heard on SENLeo apparently on $825K/year from 2026 according to Zero Tackle website. Yeah, I feel better about things now (assuming it's accurate)![]()
That's still not even right. It's closer to $900K. I guarantee it.
honestly they've identified an area where they were serious lacking and filled that void, haven't paid overs and that shows by how in demand he was, its an empty market for front rowers. The only players in their roster that would attract big money offers elsewhere would be Mahoney, Critter, Kiks and Thompson. Burton would as well but the dogs locked him down for 700 odd k early. Don't think any of their other signings have broken the bank. Can't say that an unwanted Curran, Tupouniua, Mann or Sexton were breaking the bank by any means, shall I go on with their list of good recruits while not breaking the bank. Gus is a geniusSo much for the Dogs being better at managing their salary cap!
Canberra is Canberra, anything that's not Canberra is a lure without tryingMy feeling too, especially with the family lure of Canberra + cost of living in Sydney.
870/900k is what I’m hearing if that’s true that’s serve overpayment unless he was a top 3 prop in the comp and right now he isn’t even top 5 well behindhonestly they've identified an area where they were serious lacking and filled that void, haven't paid overs
Gould certainly should have been the first port of call for Wests when they took over the Knights. 10 yrs on we'd be well on the way towards building sustained success by now.honestly they've identified an area where they were serious lacking and filled that void, haven't paid overs and that shows by how in demand he was, its an empty market for front rowers. good example of great cap management. The dogs looking towards the future identified a 21 yr old talent from a successful culture to play in their halves ( with a massive boot) to build a team around. Juxtaposed to the Knights looking towards the next season recruited a not particularly outstanding 27 yr old journeyman for the same money.Burton would as well but the dogs locked him down for 700 odd k early
Yep looking after our junior recruitment & pathways will be more crucial in years to comeThis is how it is now with more and more teams added.
Not enough talent to go around, so promising players attract ridiculous sums now as the lucky few clubs horde the established stars.
Clubs are left overpaying for what they can get.

With good cap management comes a degree of leeway in making calculated risk in recruitment strategy. Leo obviously fills their void.

Meanwhile over at the Raiders looking towards the future they've recruited a 1, 7, and 6 from the under-19's state of origin spine
Always a lottery. We have Wilson De Courcey at the moment who is meant to be the next big thing from Penrith (albeit not a half), we'll see what happens there.I recall we recruited a young half from a team with a massive boot to play for us.
Didn't go too well when the Knights tried it.
Is lack of talent really a thing when the NRL constantly loses superstar players to union only to replace them with as good or better players and when the Dolphins enter the comp, unearth a stack of talent and are unlucky not to have played finals in the first two seasons (with Bennett dropping Katoa for the last few games a gift for the Knights). This is how it is now with more and more teams added.

He's allowed his view, play the ball not the man.The Bulldogs supporter is talking through his hat as usual.
Yet he's done exactly that to Knights supporters. He's allowed his view, play the ball not the man.
bit of a false equivalency ,I recall we recruited a young half from a team with a massive boot to play for us.
