Spot on Billy. Whilst I wanted to keep Cooper it’s Butler who needs to focused on as our future in the halves and thankfully they’ve got him signed for next 2 years up to he finishes high school.

I watched most of the Mathews games and number 7 Chase Butler was the best player and the standout prospect. In fact, Votano was probably made to look better than he is because opposition sides had their hands full trying to contain Butler, and Votano got some space to have some highlight reel moments.
Votano is very good and might even be great if Melbourne throw the sort of resources at him they threw at Pezet, but he's no Chase Butler.
Cooper was quality no doubt, and had some lovely touches for Mulherin his edge forward and stepped through Defences on multiple occasions, but he’s not the organiser like Butler and we can probably be covered at 6 with either Jaylon Bishop or Ryder Croswell.

Just on Gagai resigning. Supposedly the club has offered him 300k? I think he is worth the 400k he is asking. He would still be first choice center next year. Although we have Hunt/Schiller/McCarthy.
The problem we have is we have paid overs on Ponga and Brown which filters down to the whole squad. Don’t get me wrong I’m stoked we have those two players, but it could cost us in the rention of not just Gags or Frizz but other players.
Melbourne have top loaded also but not as much as us in two players. POS has a clear tactic, I like he’s not paying overs but it’s tough if we lose a Gags, Frizz, other talents. Its definitely a juggling act now.

Idk is there a mil+ tied up in gagai and frizz? Neither came through knights juniors but both have been long term players and paid very well for it. Not likely to win the comp to be honest I sort of would prefer using the $ to secure more long term players. Noticed sione finau off contract at the dragons. Could be worth a look if interested.

Agree, completely....... I think he will be one of those that retire early due to constant injuries.
I think Parr is just laying the ground work, preparing everyone for Ponga to be leaviing. Sure we will offer him a contract, but it would be below what he’s on now. A kind of take it or leave it deal
