Recruitment And Retention Discussion

Apart from Gagai and Friz, who will clearly decide around the end of the season whether they want to play again next yeah and Brailey and Hastings who will not be resigned, there is now only a few players in our top 30 squad that are unsigned for next year.

I think it’s clear that resigning Adam Elliott, KPP and Jack Hetherington is dependent on whether they will accept less to stay at the Knights.

Does anyone know what is happening with Paul Bryan, Riley Jones and Siteni Taukamo?

The next piece for me would be elliot but its hard to say what his standing is with pos and the club. Im sure he would attract interest elsewhere and not sure we will compete with other offers.
If we can be sitting in the top 4 or there abouts after 10 rounds, paired with the brown signing and key players locked in long term. He may just stay for a little under what he could get else where.

I think you've got this 100% right mate.

Two cheap years to chase a comp & if you play well on a winning team someone else will come in with a big payday. Sign for PNG in 2028 and you'll make up the difference and then some.

I cant see kpp taking a cut and i cant see pos extending him on his current reported salary.
I agree, KPP may have been overpaid initially but I suspect by the end of this season he will look much closer to the player we're paying for and the market won't be too far off when he signs his next deal....I can't believe I'm going to say this but as Gus says, "If not him, who?".

Talking of ESL.
In the first game of cup he made a few mistakes and you could see he was very angry at himself.
In the second game he was fantastic and played out of his skin.
I think he was told he had a contract upgrade coming if he had a good game and was trying too hard in the first game.
His second game wasn't far behind McEwen.

Dodd has not played a game for the Rabbits but they've already completely written him off and the same pundits who go into conniptions over players trying to get out of contracts are saying Souths should try and get out of this contract...a reminder not to pay too much attention on the rare occasion that they're talking about the Knights.

Hypocrisy at its very best.
Open mouth without engaging brain!
