He was prevailed upon to take the job after the Tinkler era because his reputation, character and record of success make him irreproachable.
If he wasn't local, a guy of his standing wouldn't even consider taking on this role.
In short - I don't have to stick up for him. Just point out that anyone taking shots at him are making fools of themselves.

Skeptical ..Mate your the biggest nay sayer on here and you tear everyone a new one all the time ... you should take over everyones job at the club because you could do them all heaps better ...APPARENTLY.....Maybe Brian was on there talking about football practices because he was being interviewed about the footy club he is running der...

Haha now now, I never said I could do their jobs, let alone better than them. I merely made the observation that they must be average at their jobs compared to their equivalents at other clubs. And I think it's fair to say at this point that our results, on and off the field, are working to support my observation. On top of this, I shared what I thought was reasonable insight into how or why they might be failing at their jobs

You shouldn't refer to Brian McGuigan as 'Brian' unless you know him personally

And you shouldn't get so easily confused, Ethan

Think your the one confused old mate ....you told us they are all doing a **** job but as usual you really have no idea of what they are doing . You shared your insight into where they are failing where does the information for this insight come from , were you in the boardroom last meeting or anytime actually ...
Have you been at discussions with CEO and coach ...Have you seen the books to see if were putting cash in the bank or if were broke.. Please great sage give us your wisdom . Tell us did you know we were gonna sign Paea and please tell us who we will sign next seeing you know so much about whats happening behind closed doors ......Oh and by the way I will call him Brian if I want to Lots of people call prince Charles, Charlie Tony Abbott, Tony... Brian Smith Brian, Andrew Johns Andrew and so on ....and I cant call him Brian but you can say what you like about him even when your pulling that Bxxxxhit info out of your axxe ,do you always guess and presume without really knowing and are you always such a hotspot of negativity.....

I don't presume to know what takes place inside of a boardroom, that is for psychics, I take it you are a psychic?

In the real world of sport and business the only variable that holds any water are the results. You choose to assume that the people running the club are doing a fantastic job. I ask, what are you basing this on? Have you been inside of the boardroom? So how can you claim to measure their performance on anything other than results?

All I judge by is the available evidence. The evidence is that they're aren't performing to the desired requirement because our results have been extremely disappointing (in a lot of areas). What this tells me, and anyone else with two eyes and a brain, is that they must therefore be doing a poor job. At least in the scheme of competition from rival clubs, which to be fair is the only yard stick we can use

So in reality, my opinion is governed by results, because that's the most rational and fair thing to do.

By the way, you can call people by their first name all you want. It's just an error in the etiquette language. No different to eating food with two knives rather than using a fork. No one can stop you if you so desire!

Whats a fork.....
You keep telling us how bad a job the people running the club are doing but your not in the know are you so you are presuming . Also I am basing what I said on results and the facts are that for the first time in god knows how many years or decades for that matter the club may make a small profit instead of losing millions per year as is the norm here and if no profit we will break even . That in itself blows your theory away as even breaking even is a massive thing for this club , its probably the first time its ever happened ...
 
We've been rebuilding since 2007 and quite frankly I'm over it, sick of seeing us in battles to avoid the spoon.
 
There are 16 teams in the comp.
Only 1 wins the comp.
The other 15 are building for the future or are falling off a cliff.
I'd rather we have a young side building for the future than an old side getting worse.

We were always going to have a rut of an era, I still love my Newcastle Knights and anyone who doesn't support the team through these tough times can **** off now because they're not real supporters and the Knights don't need them when they're trying to rebuild the culture of the joint we have a lot of scars we as a football club have to get rid of give the club a break guys !

We're a football club. Our only goal is to win games. We currently are losing form, players and supporters... Their results are very poor, therefore, they must change and improve

Doesn't need to be anymore complicated than that
 
Wanted to bump this thread up a bit to give everyone who hasn't followed us an update.

This campaign has taken off better than anyone, myself included expected. We've spoken to Aaron Kearney on ABC and Richard King on 2HD about our views, our concerns, what we feel isn't working and the general state of the club. We've had an opinion piece written and publish in the Newcastle Herald which led to a discussion with John Quayle over the phone and yesterday a meeting with Brian McGuigan and Matt Gidley. The radio interviews, the opinion piece and a summary of our discussion with Quayle can be found on the Facebook page. We've copped a fair bit of criticism but we've achieved something we saw as our first goal and that's the club listening to the fans. We're not entirely sure what our next step is, I don't think I can give anyone a decent answer to that, however, the campaign hasn't been ignored and hopefully it can be a voice for the supporters.
 
Hasn't been as much collaboration between fans as I'd hoped for, just seems like an lu thing now.
