Phoenix Crossland as potential co captain.

A bit rough on Gids to act like he was a low talent trier. He had a very dangerous running game, he wasn’t a KP but there were plenty of times Kurt was able to create something when there was very little on.
When the Jersey Flegg squad was chosen the year Kids would have first moved in to it, he didn't make the cut. He pestered the coach about what he needed to work on. The coach eventually agreed he could keep training with the squad and was happy that he would at least set high standards. It was through effort he eventually got a run and kept that effort going throughout his career

I remember him as an error factory in his early years, especially when under pressure. He kept working till he got that out of his game.
Yeah I think that’s fair. Even when he was at his peak he could come up with a clanger. Weirdly I found in his final few years, when he was injured a fair bit, that finally seemed to disappear from his game.

Made my day honestly get home from school with the weeks edition and maybe a pack of lollies, also those books the paper used to do that went through each teams squad with like a little kind of description of them or their nickname were all time
I remember I used to walk to a newsagent near my school and buy it at lunch each week, then everyone would try and borrow it off me for the rest of the day. There was one cute girl I'd always let have a read lol.

I just reckon He would be better than Brailey He shows more commitment probably a better leader mentally wise too. I don't think Crossland would slack off in defence&go for a run when He should be passing instead like Brailey&attempting grubber kicks from dummy half that never work.

I agree with comparisons between Kurt and Pheonix but the familiarity is more psychological than skillsbased. Kurt was a wonderful ballplayer and ball runner. People forget how good he was.

You could say Pheonix is a poor man's Kurt but then again the companions kinda stop after heart, fitness and versatility. And Pheonix is arguably more of a forward than a back.

Phoenix is probably a better hooker than Kurt managed to be. I'm still mad at Bennet for moving Kurt to fit in his love child
Totally messed up the balance of the team, I don’t think it’s any coincidence that the only time we looked good under Bennett was when Gidley was injured. And I’m not blaming Gidley for that at all.
