Official: Trent Hodkinson signs with the Sharks

Just watched some of the opposed session on my smoko break. Hokko was on par with Pearce. Really surprised me. Lamb didn't seem to go 100% was near the end of the sesh though. Gee I wanna see Levi around tired forwards!!!!

You didn't see too much then lol... Pearse was in everything and ran the show.

That said, the last 20 mins was pretty poor for the side Pearse was in, I thought.

Lol imagine if we used Pearce and Hodko in round 1

There'd be an inquiry into betting action on team lineups if that played out.

The injury toll leading to that scenario by then would leave any supporter feeling like hanging themself.

Watched the opposed session.
Watson didn't play.
Pearce and Lamb both played 80 minutes. Pearce took the lead role and Lamb was the second choice playmaker.
I didn't see Guerra - don't think he played.
Moga played 80 minutes but didn't go out of his way to make any blockbusting runs.
Josh King started with reserves but swapped jerseys with Jake Saifiti at halftime and he played firsts and Saifiti played reserves.
Brodie Jones played 60 minutes with reserves and the last 20 with firsts.
Faitotoa Faitotoa and Thomas Cronan played off the bench for reserves and Hazard started at hooker for reserves - Amey didn't play. Another guy who might have been Zac Hosking played, but looked too big to be Hosking.
Just after halftime they gave the ball to the reserves for several repeat sets attacking the line with Jake Saifiti, Pasami Saulo, Faitotoa, Pat Mat and Brodie Jones all having big runs at the line - and 2 or 3 tries were scored.
From memory the firsts linesd up;

Trent Hodkinson's move to Manly appears to be off. Rumours emerging that the Cronulla Sharks are set to sign him with Newcastle paying a portion of his contract still......Just read this on Facebook ...

I was very impressed with Meaney and Johns this morning. Both look sharp...
The Johns off load to Naden when he was in a strong tackle that led to the Cronan try was impressive.
Naden was far more impressive than the last session. His try backing up the Tom Hughes break shows he has good speed. Hughes outran Pearce and was finally caught by Ross after 60 metres, but Naden kept up with all of them and was there to take the pass.
Meaney scored a few tries - one from a Pat Mat offload was pretty good. He looked a bit injured towards the end.
Yates looks strong and fit.
Ponga had some brilliant runs, but all the slick passing he did last week was missing. The one time he tried to throw a cutout pass it was intercepted by Hughes and Naden scored at the other end of the field.

Agree... Nadan is a little bigger than I thought he'd be too. Hughes pulled off a couple of good tackles out wide to shut some half chances down. He won't be too far off 1st grade if we loose a back or two.

Who was the shorter islander in 22 (miners jumper) @Billy?
Faitotoa Faitotoa (without looking - shorter gave it away). Tough little guy who plays lock and a bit of hooker, at which he is surprisingly nippy out of dummy half, and hits the line like a missile, which leaves markers scattered like nine pins when he does it - pity he can only do it 3 or 4 times in 15 minutes or so.
