Wow we are desperate...

Only change would be Sims for Houston, but I'm not complaining. Newton needs to play, as much as everyone hates him on here there is no doubt he will rip in and that is exactly what we need from the players.
 
Josh on the wing that worked well last time didnt it... he isnt even nsw cup standard. I doubt wayne even cares just wants the next 5 months to be over with

The Newcastle Knights has named a 17-man team for Saturday’s match against the Sydney Roosters at Allianz Stadium.

A number of changes have been made due to State of Origin, injury and suspension.

Jake Mamo returns from injury (back) to replace Darius Boyd, who is in camp with Queensland, while Josh Mantellato is named on the wing with James McManus shifting to centre to cover the injured Joey Leilua (throat).

The Knights are also without forwards Beau Scott, due to Origin, and Kade Snowden, due to suspension.

Chris Houston shifts into the starting side while Joseph Tapine and Clint Newton join the bench.

OMG how low can we go lets give our young players a hit in first grade and see how they go .

I like this team, clearly Wayne rates Mantellato on the wing higher than he rates the Mata'utia's in the centres. I think Clydesdale, Tapine and Mamo is enough young guys in the team at any one time. Considering Korbin, Rochow and Roberts are fairly young as well.
 
My jaw dropped wide open when I saw Newton's name on the list.

So nice to see Mamo named at fullback though!! Might actually go watch this game.

Wish Wayne would have the guts to drop Gidley to the bench.

This would be our worst named team this season but I guess it'll have to do with all our injuries, suspensions and rep.
 
I don't think that will be the final lineup.
No props on the bench won't work.
If we had Mantellato last week he probably would have kicked us to victory.

We won't be winning so it's great to see Tapine and Mamo there, looking forward to seeing if Mamo can show off his skill at fullback in the NRL as much as he does in the 20's.

Some people can't make up their minds. They want the overpayed players not having a dig out but cry with Newton coming in. The grudge is long gone imo but I guess not according to most fans.
