The ignore system is a joke.
It gives people a free shot at defaming you without you even knowing.
I use it for now, but frankly, when I decide this forum just isn't worth it, it will be because the ignore system, coupled with weak moderation, makes this place toxic.

We try to keep track of all posts and if we see any that insult, degrade or harass we delete it and issue infractions or bans so it doesn't give people a free shot at all
If you think we are weak then please feel free to take my job because I've had an absolute gut-full anyway
I'll happily walk because I'm sick to death of trying to keep the peace and do what's best for everyone when all I cop is posts like yours and people continuing to act like juveniles
If anyone wants my job then take it because I'm done

I had no problem not bothering with this place for a month or so.
The start of the season got me back because there were a lot of interesting football to talk about, but I could walk away with nothing but an extended middle finger by way of goodbyes.

Mate don't let the occasional spat get you down. It's a tough job modding!
From being a member of a forum and contributing, to then becoming a mod your perspective changes dramatically. Instead of joining in the banter you often sit back and look at a thread with a more critical eye. It can certainly make your time on a forum much less enjoyable. A lot of people who have never done it don't get it.
I hope you just take a bit of a breather and continue on, for what my opinion is worth I think the moderation is good here, not over the top, but not sitting back and letting everything go either.

I did everything they told me to do over what was actually more than a year.
It made it worse.
I've had no solution offered.
What I get is - just put up with it.

U have been around the traps a very long time... im sure insults from people who dont know u isnt going to haunt u at night.
Have u ever been on Zerotackle? That place has no mods for infractions and the insults are very nasty at times including threatening others.
This place is run pretty well by the guys who do it for the love of the club players fans and only ask that we all try to keep it on tpoic and as civil as possible.

There is a difference between people arguing points of view, which I have no problem with, and the few people who want to attack everything I say and try to destroy my credibility, because they have some sort of problem with me. That is not fun in any way.
I put those people on ignore, as I was told to, and found they then had a chance to attack everything I said without me having a chance to defend myself. I repeat, the ignore function solves no problems.
I deliberately didn't reply to one bloke for months, and then put him on ignore for god knows how long - adding up to over a year with me saying nothing to him, and every time I posted it seemed, I got a message saying he had replied. Every now and then i'd look at his posts, and he just kept attacking me - and the mods said and did nothing.

I don't like having a go at the moderators, because it is not an easy job. However I have had numerous relevant posts deleted without explanation. Please inbox me to explain or I am out to! Being in control of anything requires hard and fast rules which you must adhere to. Weak leadership leads to anarchy, there can't be two sets of rules! Case in point, lords outbursts earlier in the year and claims he was admin, dealt with by a grovelling apology and a couple of weeks of not being an ***! Admin clearly have relationships with posters outside of the forum and administrate accordingly. This post will be deleted, and that my friends is not how a democratic society operates. You did not delete cbm's highly offensive comment about Alex, yet delete my honest appraisal of the manipulation that occurs on this site. Please explain!!!!

Your right the ignore feature serves little purpose if your going to keep checking on what they post about you.
The idea is to add them to ignore, then actually do that! Why do you care that some dude on the interwebs doesn't like you or what you post. And other forum members can see when someone is consistently attacking you and see it for what it is!

One thing i learnt a long time ago is that u can not beat hate with hate... that will only grow more hate.
The only way to beat hate is with love.... so to that said enermy show them care and love.... u mite not get it back but at some point everyone else will notice them as the a$$ hole they really are.

The ignore function should automatically prevent that person from being able to see your posts. That would pretty well solve the issue
