In all honesty mate I am a country boy and I find it VERY laid back can happily wonder down to my local and enjoy myself and normally strike up a convo or two, more than I can say about any other part of Sydney.
 
Knights shut down Bulldogs' requests for a player trade involving Test prop David Klemmer

Knights officials have flatly rejected calls from the Canterbury Bulldogs for a player trade for David Klemmer as the Kangaroos prop edges closer to a decision on his future.

While he is yet to be released by the Bulldogs, there is speculation Klemmer could sign a four year deal with the Knights within the next week but the club won’t be swapping any players.

Newcastle director of football Brian Canavan told the Newcastle Herald a player swap for Klemmer isn’t on the table.

“They presented the notion to us about a trade but I just responded to that by telling them we won’t be releasing any of our players,” Canavan said

Canavan agreed the Bulldogs are in an awkward position with their fans, who will be expecting the club to sign some sort of replacement before allowing their Test and Origin prop to exit with two years still remaining on his contract.

“They may continue the hunt elsewhere and we fully appreciate what the Dogs are doing. They are in an awkward situation,” he said.

“We are just waiting. I couldn’t put a time-frame on when the whole thing will be resolved. But as far as us giving up a player, well they know our position on that.

“I’m sure they are looking at all their options as we speak.”

The bulk of the Knights squad will report for the start of pre-season training on Monday without the club’s senior players, who have more time off as per the RLPA collective bargaining agreement.

Given he played for the Kangaroos, Klemmer is not due to start training again until just before Christmas.

“As a Test player, he’s got to have eight weeks off so as far as training goes, he won’t be back on deck for a while yet,” Canavan said.

His coming, this is just standard stuff from a club losing a player.
Said it for days that we won't offer them a trade deal and the dogs know they're trucked if they don't release klemmer.
 
If the bulldogs offered Ramien twice what we are giving him, and he wanted to go, we wouldn't have a leg to stand on. We'd basically have to match it.

He hasn't even played a game for us so there would be no "offer" from the dogs. Plus ramien will be happy here, They can put their tails between the legs no pun intended and wag off into the distance whilst releasing klem to us.

I'd say its been going on since June when Brown bumped into castle at the twin servos.

We are just getting the tail of it and the deal is already done, the dogs are just making noise to keep the board/members/fans happy.

Yeah that’s right.
The recruitment has been exceptional. And to be perfectly honest If we didn’t know Klem was on the radar we would have signed Merrin.
