Official: Knights sign David Klemmer for 5 years

And this proves exactly what I'm saying, the clubs do do it and have done for a long time..
The NRL just turn a blind eye to it, but in this case where jimmy blabbed about it they had to make it look like its not OK.
Its still the same practice being used today though 100%

so your saying a tpa can be inked into a players club contract? that doesnt sound right to me, and if thats the case there would be no need to register it with nrl as it would be covered and signed off by the nrl when the club submits the players contract

A TPA is sent to the NRL to be signed off with the contract!!!!! Though the NRL will not bind it to the contract.....

I don't know how TPA's work but if I was a player and didn't get the money I was promised to play for a club I would talk to a lawyer because you may have been able to get more just in a contract at another club …
If Klemmer is on $600,000, $200,000 of which is a TPA and you don't receive it $4,000 a week is a big hit to your pocket . I would want out too and then go and punch the ****** that got or kept me there and then didn't pay .
Im sure I remember the CEO of the Bronco's came out and said that the club had so many people with TPA's ready that the club had to turn them away ..
That says to me the clubs have more to do with it than we think .

He could take it to court tbh,
Klemmer has been mislead with a deal that hasn't been met, the club 100% would of used it as a bargaining tool to keep him happy but now its bitten them in the arse and they are throwing the standard media response to the media to make it look like they are doing everything possible to resolve it all while conceding the fact they have got nothing to give and will let klemmer go.

So much wrong with that I don't know where to start.

Klemmers only legal avenue for recourse is with the organisation that isn't paying the TPA.

I think im expecting a level of comprehension that just isn't going to be met, so I'll leave it there.

As I said I don't know much about TPA's and I would rather top myself than be a lawyer so I don't know how the legal crap works either .
I cant imagine a judge saying well mate you stayed at the club because of this tpa but just because it wasn't paid doesn't mean there's anything you can do about it you just have to stay until your contracts up because this has nothing to do with the club ….
Even though the club is the one who directly benefits from said tpa ...

TPA's cannot be sourced by the club, they must be sourced by the player/manager.
TPA's are authorised and registered with the NRL if they meet the criteria and are not included in the club's salary cap, up to a certain amount per club per year.
Neither the club nor the NRL guarantee TPA's, it is a "third party agreement" between the player and the business.
This is why Klemmer requires a release because the club is not legally obligated to fulfill the TPA, because "technically" they have nothing to do with it!

So your saying that all is above board with the way TPA deals are done are you? And the player just has to suck it up if it doesn't get paid?

Its funny cause here I was thinking that you've been bashing the Roosters and Broncos forever with there TPA deals.

I hate losing a argument to mate, but you know its done like I'm saying and has been for a long time now.

And I'm 100% positive that legal processes could be taken in this instance or the bill could be sent to debt collector's as Klemmer has a signed document from the client/NRL/club which has not been met.

The Bronco's said that THEY were turning away people that wanted to provide Tpa's for players and I suppose if you wanted to supply that cash how would you do it , I would think you would contact the club first , I would .

The clubs can and do source the TPA, they can not be affiliated with the club though.
Once the club says this business is willing to provide a deal then the player/manager takes it from there. "Supposedly" but we all know that clubs deal with it from the start to the end and the NRL signs off on it.
Its free money to keep our best players in the game.

We all know what the clubs do and the whole thing is a joke!
You are getting confused with the legality of individual TPA's and who is ultimately responsible for their payment!
It isn't the club and it isn't the NRL!

Surely someone who directly benefits from an unpaid tpa like the club has to have some liability especially if im right and the club is contacted first and the NRL has to be informed about it .

On another note the supporters on the kennel are next level retards!
Some of the scenarios they are suggesting are ludicrous, is there a mental institution in Bankstown?
Do yourselves a favour and go have a read lol's for days!
Not only are they nuts they have not much idea about footy or other clubs

There's no way Klemmer can take legal action. The NRL would just state TPA payments are not guaranteed & are a private agreement separate from the clubs. Full stop. That's why he's trying to get a release rather than just walking out.
