Official: Knights sign Connor Watson on a 3 year deal

First we need confirmation on Moga and SKD, then Watson and Ese'ese. I would be happy with any three of the four.

All we have at this stage is Ponga and Guerra.

Shaun Kenny Dowall will join his new team mates next week but has a slight hamstring injury.

Tatau Moga is said to be a done deal for 2018.

Herman Ese'ese is also favouring a move to the Hunter but Broncos are trying everything to hang on to him.

Connor Watson wants to join the Knights next year but the Wests Tigers have blown them out of the water with a 600k offer which could be too good to refuse.

Tyler Randell has signed with English club Wakefield Trinity for 2018 but could leave earlier.

Enjoy tiges he shows talent but lol at that amount.

So why have the Tigers spent the last 2 months chasing Lolohea as the future fullback on decent cash just to change their minds after 3 games and offer Watson who they will know offer 600k. They also have Brooks on 500k, Reynolds 800k and Packer and Mataulino on substantial contracts, surely they getting to the point were they need to be getting the most out of every dollar and can't be throwing overs at Watson when they already have players in that position.

I was thinking the exact same thing... Watson isnt worth that much... And why would they need him that badly?

Tigers team is junk, they'd have heaps of cash to spend still ......

I don't think Watson is a fullback so I think they're making a mistake.....

Having a rubbish team does not mean you have cash to spend, it can mean they just overpay mediocre players and I think Mataulino's contract is pretty good evidence of that throwing big money at a guy who has missed the better part of two years.

Any thoughts that this might just be Watson's management trying to drive our price up?
He's come out and said he was a Newcastle supporter growing up and he was previously in our junior system so doubtful but it wouldn't be surprising. Tigers just taking a leaf out of our book trying to ruin their cap.

Well if they have 600K to spend on Watson they must have some cash to spend ......

Quinny they are just snapping up anyone no rhyme or reason. I'll take our calculated approach all day.

Maybe they thinking

1. Lolohea
6. Reynolds
7. Brooks
9. Watson
14. Liddle

Can't really do much else, but I would think it's doubtful that they want Watson as a hooker for 600k, he's definitely a half or fullback more so.

They just extend Mcillwricks contract thou so surely he will be in the 17 since he has been pretty solid for them this year, it just seems odd and a bit like their panic buying.

They defiantly had a war chest after losing a number of players but that has to have dried up pretty quickly after extending some players contracts and than signing a number of other established players with rep experience.i find it hard to believe they have a lot of third parties either given the internal conflicts, on field results and dwindling crowd numbers.
